Opal Holte, 78, of Tioga, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Tioga Medical Center Tioga, ND.

Opal was born to Orlando and Irene Dahle Arnson on July 9, 1945 in Williston, ND.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She attended school in Williston, ND and graduated with the class of 1963.

On November 20, 1976, Opal married the love of her life, Daryle Holte. They worked together at their family-owned business, Daryle’s Travel in Williston, ND for many years. During those years, they received many honorable awards, with trips to celebrate them in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and Chicago. They also enjoyed their other travels together, especially to Las Vegas and Mesa, AZ.

Opal loved spending time with their grandchildren and singing the bath time songs that they all remembered with a smile. Her hobbies include reading books, adding to her shoe collection and cooking. She was an excellent cook! Christmas was her favorite time because the little ones would come for their presents and Grandmas kisses and the adults would come for her cooking! Opal’s other joy was spending time with Jane, her older sister and best friend. It was a tremendous loss for Opal and many others, the day Jane was tragically taken from them, way to soon.

In 2003, Opal and Daryle moved to the Holte family farm on the Temple Road between Tioga and Ray, ND where they built their beautiful family home where they have lived ever since. They enjoyed the peacefulness of farm life.

Opal is survived by her husband, Daryle of 46 years; children, Brent (Kristi) Bjella, Blaine (JoDee) Bjella, Connie Holte Sass, Debbie Holte Williams; daughter-in-law, Kim Holte; brother-in-law, Vern Holte, sister-in-law, Linda Faye Holte (Gary) Raan; 14 grandchildren, Brady (Emily), Blake, Brandon, Alesha, Brandon (Briana), Kesenja, Nichole, Alison (Gary), Garrett, Jurni, Jaylie, Joscelyn (Kirby), Jessica (Parker); 15 great-grandchildren, Auggie, Oscar, Kylee, Teagan, Iver, Mattie, Nolyn, Graci, Emmet, Boston, Jax, Hunter, Salena, Sienna, Tanner; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando and Irene; sister, Jane Long; brothers, Warren Nelson, Jerry Nelson; son, Jeff Holte; father and mother-in-law, Ole and Eleanor Holte; brothers-in-law, Duane Holte and DK Long.

Opal is in Heaven now with her beloved little shih tzu companion, Molly.
