PAUL, I STILL HAVE THE BOTTLE OF PERFUME YOU BOUGHT ME SO MANY YEARS AGO - IT'S EMPTY, OF COURSE. ALL OF YOU HAVE STAYED IN MY HEART AND MIND ALL THIS TIME. YOUR MOM WAS SO GOOD TO SMOKEY WHEN HE WAS IN THE NURSING HOME - I LOOKED UP YOUR NAMES AND FOUND THAT, IF THESE PEOPLE ARE INDEED YOU, HAVE MIGRATED TO FLORIDA. THERE WERE FEW PEOPLE IN CULBERTSON I WOULD HAVE TERMED A REAL 'LADY' - YOUR MOM BEING ONE OF THEM. AM SO SORRY SHE IS GONE -

Jo, my darling sister, I will always remember our days on the farm working like little badgers, milking cows, cooking, gardening, canning, making cottage cheese and now you are at rest. Your days of motherhood, nursing and lovingly caring for your patients, raising your children and now you are at rest. You were a wonderful Bible teacher; I loved attending your classes when I visited you. You were God's servant and now you are at rest safe in the arms of our Savior Jesus. I know you were God's special love because you shared it so beautifully. You are at peace and in Paradise with our parents, our brother Jerry, and my Katie. May God comfort and grant peace to your entire family and one day we will be together once again. I am your oldest sister, the one you always wanted to be. Faye Olson Bacon

It is with a heavy heart I remember my dear friend, Joyce. Her presence would light up a room with her gentle spirit, spontaneous smile, TLC, and kind words. If you were fortunate enough to have her as your nurse or friend you know what I mean. Her bedside manner and healing hands were of the highest standard. She always put the needs of others before her own. She loved what she did and never left a task for someone else to finish. Just give her a challenge and she could and would tackle anything put before her. I learned so much from her example and will cherish all the fun times we shared. She was a true and trusted friend forever. Her calling on earth was to be a nurse, now she has a higher calling to be with her family members who have gone before her.

God Bless and Keep you All. Joyce was a wonderful person whom I remember as a 4H mom, nurse extraordinaire and lots of fun. She gave me lots of pointers when I was a new mom and I believed her, not just because she was a smart nurse, but because she raised a passel of great kids!

The best nurse ever! I cherish the picture we have of Joyce holding our first baby, Chrissy, up to the window of the hospital nursery so we snap a photo. That was over 45 years ago in the old Culbertson hospital. Our sympathies to her family.

We are so sorry to hear that Joyce passed away! She is truly a gift from God! Joyce certainly had a heart that showed that she cared and the most precious love that she shared with everybody! I will always remember the sweetest memories of all of the wonderful visits and great laughs that I had with Joyce! God took Joyce from this earth, home to him up in heaven, to give her the rest that she needed. God will take care of her! We are praying for her whole family asking God to help all of you through these difficult days ahead! Jesus will show you the way if you keep trusting in God to care for you, too! We will all be with Joyce again someday! Take care and God bless all of you!!! Mardell and Gail Pedersen

Dear cousin Joyce,

It was always fun to be where you were. If you had helped organize another reunion "by the lake" we didn't want to miss it. I am so glad you were able to talk to your sister Dot on her last birthday and so she could hear your beloved voice on the phone saying "Happy Birthday Dot." Your exquisitely written obituary is juse one more reminder of the joy you gave joy to others until the very end.
