Visitation
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012, from 10 AM to 5pm and Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 10 AM to Noon at the funeral home, and one hour before service at the church.


Service
Funeral services for Jerene “Jackie” Dropps, 75 of Savage, MT will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at the Peoples Congregational Church in Sidney with Pastor Neil Lindorff officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Deniece Schwab and Virginia Herrick. Casketbearers are: Frank Gurney, Chris Gurney, Jon Marker, Jake Marker, Kyle Smith, Sean Smith, Billie Dropps and Mike Dropps. Honorary casketbearers: All of Jackie’s grandkids and great grandkids. Ushers LeRoy Schmierer and Dennis Schmierer.


Cemetary
Cremation will follow the service under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

Jerene “Jackie” was born on June 6, 1936, Sidney, MT daughter of Clifford and Loriene (Mooney) Crippen. She grew up and attended schools in Sidney, graduating from Sidney Senior High School in 1954. After graduation, Jackie worked as a telephone operator for Mabell. She later moved to Williston, ND and started working for a radio station. Jackie moved back to Sidney where she raised her three kids. She worked for Williamson, Rees, and Child, CPA’s until 1977, when she moved to Auburn, WA. After a year, Jackie returned to Sidney and started working for SOS Oil for several years. In 1979, Jackie started, Your Girl Friday Secretarial Service, and operated it until 1983. She continued doing the books for several businesses in her home. On August 2, 1984, Jackie was united in marriage to William “Bill” Dropps, in Deadwood, SD. Following the marriage they made their home in Sidney. They then moved to Alaska for several years before returning to Sidney. They moved to Alaska and back a couple of times. They loved living in Alaska. When they decided to move back, they made their home in Savage, MT where they have lived for the last eleven years. After they returned, Jackie worked during the tax season for Brenner & Averett for 4 years.
Jackie was a member of the Peoples Congregational Church in Sidney and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, bowling, gambling and her dogs. She loved to travel and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Her husband, Bill, was the Love of her life. Jackie was independent and strong willed. She was the happiest when fishing, snowmobiling, and any other activity with Bill or her family.
Jackie died on Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care Facility.
Surviving her are: her husband, William “Bill” Dropps, Savage, MT; four sons, Russell Smith, Sidney, MT, Marlon Dropps, Las Vegas, NV, Mike Dropps, Parker, CO, and Billie Dropps, Pendleton, OR; five daughters, Tawnya (Ron) Gurney, and Andrea (Dick) Davidson all of Sidney, MT; Joan (Dick) Brekke, Inverness, MT, Lona (Don) Lee, Great Falls, MT, Lorri (Will) Larsen, Spokane, WA; brother-in-law, Duane “Bud” Dropps, Sock Rapids, MN; sister, Kathleen (Jerry) Norton, Summner, WA; sister-in-law, Delores Emmerson, Foley, MN; 27 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, grandson-Austin Smith, sister-in-law-Donna M. Patterson, son-Curtiss Dropps, and daughter-Tracie Johnson.
