Scott Patrick Buske was born November 9, 1981 in Williston North Dakota to Jerry and Mary (Prevost) Buske. Scott attended school in Sidney (Sept-Dec 1987), Darmstadt Germany (Jan 1987-Oct 1990), back to Sidney (1991), Lacey Washington (1992), Ft. Lewis Washington (1993), back to Sidney, Colorado Springs, Colorado (1994), and again back to Sidney before graduating in 2000.
Living in so many places gave Scott many opportunities of adventure such as visiting historic castles of Germany, including Frankenstein Castle, and hiking and collecting rocks from Pikes Peak and the Garden of Gods. Scott’s favorite adventures were the ones he spent with his brothers Matt and Greg as well as his cousins Shane, Joel and Luke which he considered brothers as well. Some of these adventures include playing night games, GI Joes, mini micros, video games and board games like Russian Bank and Monopoly.
After graduating from Sidney High School, Scott pursued further education at MSU-Bozeman where he studied to become a mechanical engineer, with the aspiration to create his own cars. In 2002 Scott joined the Air Force, where he became an A.G.E. mechanic at Fairchild AFB in Spokane Washington. While Scott was at Fairchild, he met and married Chelsie Thomas, a fellow coworker and friend. Scott was relocated to Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas, where he used his expertise to become an instructor for A.G.E. mechanics. Scott took considerable pride as well as compassion in mentoring his students. While Scott was at Sheppard AFB, he furthered his education by attending Kaplan University where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. During the 12 years he was in the Air Force, Scott made many friends that he regarded like family. Unfortunately during this time his marriage to Chelsie ended, even though he never truly stopped loving her. After 12 years of military service Scott decided that it would be time to explore new horizons. In 2013, Scott moved back to Sidney and took some time to help his family. In 2014 Scott started working for Continental Resources as a lease operator. Scott instantly fell in love with this job. He felt that the job was challenging yet rewarding and that he could learn something new every day. It also provided him opportunities to meet more great people. As with all the friends Scott made along his journey, he considered his Continental Resources friends family.
Scott enjoyed many things. Some of his favorite passions were working on his personal vehicles, football, where he possessed knowledge of statistics on all players, but most importantly his Florida State Noles and Tampa Bay Bucs. Scott loved reading, bowling, fishing, and cooking, especially when he could find willing participants to try the foods he made containing the hottest spices and peppers.
Scott’s greatest passion was the love that he held for his friends and family. Scott would go to the end of the world for anyone, but he especially placed effort to make sure he could take care of his brothers Matt and Greg as well as their children Zoey, Elle, and Luci.
We will miss your wisdom, your honesty and sarcasm, your laughter, your kindness, and your unwavering ability to see the best in all of us. Rest in peace our beloved son, brother, nephew and uncle and cousin.
