It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Kerala Joyce Moore
August 11, 1967 - November 11, 2016

Place of Birth: Casper, WY
Residence: Williston, ND
Age: 49

Kerala Moore, 49, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2016. She passed peacefully at home with her husband and four boys by her side. She had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer three years earlier, shortly after she and her family moved to Williston. Yet Kerala continued to be a joyful, resilient person, drawing strength from her relationship with Christ and the love of her family and dear friends.

Kerala was born in Casper, WY on August 11, 1967 to Dale and Naomi Hitz. She grew up in Wyoming, with four siblings. She was a precocious child, learning to read, essentially on her own, at age 4. Even as a child, she had a strong leadership ability and a gift for influencing others. One person she had an influence on was Jason, whom she met at chiropractic school in Davenport, IA. Jason was attracted to her cute, petite frame, her keen intellect, and her joyful love for the Lord. They were married March 10, 1990, shortly before they graduated.

They opened a practice together three years later, in Western Montana. They weathered many struggles over the years, including career setbacks, financial losses and even marital separation for a time. With God’s help, however, they overcame those hardships and learned to treasure each other and flourish together again as a family. They moved to Williston in the spring of 2013, where they have seen, along with difficulties, His kindness poured out on them and their sons in many wonderful ways.

Though Kerala was a doctor, she loved being a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling each of the boys through eighth grade; and she could most often be found in the kitchen or her garden, working cheerfully to provide amazing quantities of food for her growing boys. Her kitchen was always the happiest room in the house! Kerala had a way of bringing the reality of her faith into her everyday life and relationships, sharing her wisdom and being willing to pray with someone whenever she encountered a need. She will be greatly missed.

Kerala is survived by her husband, Jason, and their four boys, Joel, Daniel, Ian and Thaddeus; her parents, Dale and Naomi Hitz, her older brother, Nathan (wife Sarah), her younger siblings, Lael (wife Lourdes), Laerki (husband Enrique), and Axel (wife Da’Nell), and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Glenda.

I love looking at the pictures of Kerala and the family. That sweet impish smile I so remember from when we were kids...always fun to be around! But also so thoughtful and godly, with wisdom well beyond her years. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by so many whose lives she's touched, and joyously reunited when we are all together in God's presence. Thoughts and prayers for all the family.

Kerala was always such a bright, beautiful light, and she is deeply missed. I loved her humor, her insight and her unwavering devotion to God. Even though I was 6" taller than her, she always managed to out-pace me during our speedwalking sessions! ha ha The world is not the same without our beloved Kerala. Thank you for sharing the delightful pictures.

Kerala was such a joy! Every time we chatted she was encouraging. She just radiated love for her boys and it was infectious. I loved the friendship Thad and David had while they were together at Heritage. Our deepest sympathies to all of her men! We continue to pray the God of all comfort will surround and uphold you until the day of Christ Jesus. The Aamots

Dr Moore ~I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of Kerala. My deepest condolences to you and your family. You've been on my mind so I decided to look on the internet to see if you both were still practicing in Montana ... I was shocked to find the obituary. My heartfelt wishes to you for comfort and peace in the knowledge that she is with the Lord and is watching over you and your boys at this time.
