It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Julie Mae Verplancke
December 2, 1938 - February 22, 2017

Place of Birth: Sidney
Residence: Cartwright, North Dakota
Age: 78

Julie was born in Sidney, MT to Julius and Margaret (Fleck) Verplancke on December 2, 1938. She was raised on the family farm and attended schools in Cartwright, North Dakota.
Julie worked at the courthouse in Sidney as a State Appraisal Clerk for 25 years. During this time she lived on the family farm taking care and spending time with her mom.
One of Julie’s passions was flowers and the love of taking care of her garden. You could always find her outside playing with flowers. Most of her life, Julie enjoyed hunting and could always be counted on to track down the biggest buck. Until her passing day, she enjoyed plinking off pesky raccoons in her yard!
There wasn’t a person on this earth that didn’t think highly of Julie because of her quick smile and friendly personality.
Julie was the most wonderful mother, grandma and great grandma. She loved, cared and gave so much to so many.
Julie shared a special bond and closeness with her son Greg. She had an extra special place in her heart for her son. Mom being gone will leave a hole in his heart that will never be filled. “I will always love you mom, love your son Greg.”
Julie is survived by: Her love and companion Melvin Stordahl; her son Greg (April) Thiel of Williston, N.D.; sister Bernadette (Don) Montage, Sheridan, WY,; Brother Richard Verplancke, Buffalo, WY; her grandchildren Jerica (Quintin) Miller, Fairview, MT., Shania, Safari, Kimber, Liberty and Greyson Thiel all of Williston, N.D.; her great grandchildren McKinley and Rooks Miller, Fairview, MT. Also, a special little dog she called Sweet baby girl Chloe Maye.
She was preceded by: her parents, Julius and Margaret Verplancke.
Julie passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017 at her home in Cartwright, N.D.

I opened this website and was totally shocked. I worked with Julie for several years in the appraisal office. She was always so active and looked so young for her age. I loved her ability to garden and arrange flowers. My sympathies and prayers are with her family. Unfortunately I will be out of town for several days and will be unable to attend her service.

It was with great sadness I read of Julie's passing.

To Julie's Family. I am so sorry to read of her passing. I always admired her dedication to her mother and her friendliness to me and my mom even after her divorce from David. We had many cordial and interesting conversations throughout the years. She always expressed her enjoyment in her grandchildren and time she spent with them. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Oh, so sorry to hear that Julie has left this earth. She was my neighbor when I was just a youngster and I spent many hours visiting and laughing with her kitchen table. Even after growing up it was always a pleasure to see her and visit with her.

May your memories bring you a smile. God bless you as you go on in this world without her.

I worked with Julie many years ago. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. Loved her laugh but also that face she made when she lowered her eyebrows and voice and expressed her displeasure for something.

So sorry I wasn't able to make it back for Julies service. So glad I had a chance to spend some time with her over this past year. I'll certainly pay my respects in July. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her.
