Place of Birth: Fairview, Montana

Age: 75
Marjorie (Marge) Deming was born on December 14, 1941 to parents Edwin (Leo) and Katherine (Feldman) Duda in Fairview, MT. Marge grew up and attended school in Fairview. She finished her senior year through correspondence, but was always a part of the class of 1959. On June 28, 1958 she was united in marriage to James Deming at St. Catherine’s Church in Fairview, MT. Marge often said she married the love of her life and the honeymoon lasted 47 years. They made their home in Fairview. Marge and James raised two children, Stephanie and Dale. Marge was a wonderful seamstress and sewed first her daughter’s clothes and later her granddaughter’s dresses. In 1977, Marjorie and her friend Darlene Brunner started decorating cakes. What seemed like a hobby developed into something special. They made many wedding, birthday, and graduation cakes for people in the area. It was something she truly enjoyed. In 1990, they moved to Seattle, WA. It was hard for Marjorie to leave family but she enjoyed the opportunity Seattle offered her. She took college courses and worked for the company “Pacific Rim.” This helped prepare her to fulfill her dream job. When they moved back in 1994 she opened the “Victorian Magic.” Spending her time at the crafters gallery and decorating cakes took a lot of time, but James and she always enjoyed spending time at the events their granddaughters were involved in. They seldom missed one. When health issues caused her to sell the store and give up some of her hobbies, she continued to crochet and embroider. Through the years she made afghans for her granddaughters and all of her great grandchildren. She lost Jim unexpectedly in 2005. After this Marge took the train during the summer to spend a month with her sister, Betty. They went on many excursions that she truly enjoyed. The last one was in June of 2016 when her niece, Stacey and husband Tab took Betty and her on an Alaskan cruise. Marjorie continued to live at home until circumstances took it out of her control. It did not matter where she was or how she felt, the love for her family was always the most important thing in her life. Marge died on Monday morning, June 19, 2017, at the Bethel Lutheran Home, Williston, ND. Marjorie is survived by: her son, Dale (Lani) Deming, Post Falls, ID; her daughter, Stephanie (Randy) Haber, Fairview, MT; brothers, Don (Ann) Duda, Missoula, MT; Dennis (Janet)Duda, Fairview, MT; sister, Betty Seader, Quincy, WA; granddaughters, AnnDee (Matt) Erickson, Tori (Clayton) Weisbeck and great grandchildren, Adrianna Braun, Katlyn Erickson, Brody Erickson, Kacey Erickson, Payton Erickson, Treyson Weisbeck and numerous nieces and nephews.
