Bernadette Raaum, 64, of Culbertson, MT, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral home of Williston is assisting the family.

Bernadette Raaum was born in Culbertson, Montana, on April 23, 1953 to Clarence and Emma (Moran) Lambert. She attended elementary school in Culbertson and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1972. Bernie moved on to college in Billings for nursing and soon after went to work in the old Roosevelt Memorial Hospital in Culbertson.

On March 31, 1973 she married Rolland Ray Raaum at St. Anthony’s in Culbertson. Bernie and Rolland have three children, Justin Daniel, Jaylene Catherine and Jory Ray.

Bernie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend to so many! She greatly enjoyed organizing and cooking for many, many family and community events. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Bernie was a member of the Culbertson Saddle Club, she really enjoyed the trail rides and riding along in the “Hen Wagon.” She also was a long time member of the C'Dars Club. After retiring from her many years as a cook at the Culbertson school, she could be found putting her talents to work at the Culbertson Museum where she was serving as President. If she wasn’t busy enough with her grandchildren and their events, she could often be found putting together a beautiful work of art in the shape of a quilt for some family member or exercising her embroidery skills. She had an amazing talent for decorating cakes for all occasions

Bernie enjoyed spending time with her special friends at the Birthday Club.

Bernie is survived by her husband Rolland; son Justin and grandson Wyatt, daughter Jaylene, son Jory (Kaylynn) and grandchildren Isabella, Zack, and Gavin; special adopted grandchild Colton Zahn; brothers Verle, Larry (Monica), Richard (Vonnie) and Dennis (Kathleen); and sisters Carol Ann and Dolly. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Lois Raaum and brothers-in-law Marshal and Terril (Bev) along with many nieces and nephews and special “adopted” children. Auntie Bernie was especially fond of all her Godchildren: Kelly Schwartzkopf, Jeffery Lambert, David Lambert, Dawn Krein, Kylan Engelke, Dillon Engelke, Jacoby Engelke, Katelyn Hansen and Jonathan Taberna.

Bernie is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Emma Lambert, her sister Phoebe Larsen, brothers Joseph Lambert, Andy Lambert and baby Allen Lambert, and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
