Christopher Fox, of Mandaree, ND, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the New Sanford Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. His funeral arrangements are with Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City.
Christopher John Fox “Buffalo Shedding Hair” (ixii-buxshguu-wash), member of the Prairie Chicken Clan, was born September 10, 1968 in Watford City, North Dakota. He was born to Belinda (Fox) Beston and Edward Danks.
Chris grew up in the Mandaree Community. He attended Mandaree Public School and graduated in 1988. He took part in Football, Basketball, Track & Field, high
school marching band and choir.
Chris married Pamela Nadeau on August 27, 2016. The union of their marriage brought the community together. Their vows were exchanged outside their home.
Christopher was known by several nicknames. His grandpa Guy Fox gave him his nickname “Frog Face” whom all his uncles and aunts called him. Janice Smith asked him what his name was when he was playing behind his grandmother’s home in Mandaree. He said “You can call me Stranger” We think he made his own nickname up for himself. Chris also gave his nieces and nephews nicknames.
He loved hunting, fishing and his favorite sports team, the Steelers. Chris was a dedicated Steelers fan since he was in grade school. He even named one of his dogs Steeler. His other dog’s name was Bettis. He loved getting any type of Steelers gear and wore it proudly. When the Steelers won he made it known his team won and was pleasant to everyone. BUT if the Steeler lost he never gave up hope and felt bad for a few days but got right back into his team winning the next game.
Chris was a man of humor, he loved to laugh and have a good conversation. Chris was always joking, telling jokes or playing a trick on someone. His heart was as big as they come. He always thought of others and made sure everyone was comfortable when around him. He always made it a point to check on his mother, aunts and uncles to see if he could help in anyway. He never forgot to call his mother or sisters on holidays and birthdays and at the end of each call was always “I Love you Very Much”.
