Elroy Francis Reep, age 95, died peacefully at his home in Key Biscayne, FL, on April 6, 2018.
Elroy was born March 27, 1923, the son of Sydney and Ellen Reep. He attended and graduated from Stanley High School and received an engineering degree from the University of Colorado. Elroy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He served as a Master Sgt. and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Elroy’s engineering degree led him to employment in Saudi Arabia and eventually to Trinidad, where he and a partner made a career designing and building resorts on the Caribbean Islands. It was in Trinidad that Elroy met the lady he would marry, Rena. After his retirement, he and Rena moved to Key Biscayne, FL, where they resided for over 45 years. Rena was at Elroy’s side at the time of his death.
Elroy is survived by his wife, Rena; a daughter, Rita Spears; several nieces and nephews.
Elroy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas, Algene (Olive), Glenn (Gertrude), and Donald; sisters, Phyllis (Christy) Christianson and Mary Maxine (Wallace) Holte.
