Mass of the Christian Burial for Lonny Rogness, 57, of Watford City, ND are at 11:00 A.M., CST, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Epiphany Catholic Church in Watford City with Father Brian Gross as presider. Wake services are at 6:00 P.M., CST, Monday, July 9, 2018, at the Epiphany Catholic Church, Watford City, ND.

Lonny D. Rogness of Watford City, ND passed away with his family by his side on early Friday morning, July 6, 2018, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, MT, after a short battle against lung and bone cancer. Lonny will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Lonny was born on May 15, 1961, the son of Alvin and Wilma (Campbell) Rogness. He attended schools in Watford City graduating in 1980. Upon graduating he worked in the oilfield for a few years, and then went to work at McKenzie County Road and Bridge Department for 27 years. Then back to the oilfield until the time of his death. Lonny married Shelly Schroeder on June 25, 1988, which they recently celebrated their 30th Anniversary. To this union three children were born, Jon, Jenny, and Jake. In the summer Lonny enjoyed his Saturday golf tee time with his regular crew for a game of golf. In the winter, Lonny looked forward to watching the Bison football games with the same crew. Also in the winter, Lonny and Shelly looked forward to their annual Caribbean trip with friends.
Lonny is survived by: his wife, Shelly Rogness; his sons, Jon (fiancé Meleah Leiss) Rogness and Jake Rogness; his daughter, Jenny Rogness; sisters, Cheryl Maynard and her daughter, Stacy Maynard, Debby Rogness and her son, Kevin Forman and family; sister-in-law, MaLissa Schroeder and family; brother-in-law, Mike (Rachelle) Schroeder and their two kids, Alex and Marissa; his mother and father-in-law, Marilyn and Marlin Schroeder; great nephew, Aaron Maynard.
Lonny is preceded in death by: his parents, two nephews, Kelly Foreman and Ryan Maynard; grandparents, Wilber and Esther Campbell and John and Margit Rogness.

Shelly & Family,
I'm so very sorry and am keeping you in my prayers during these tough times now and in the days ahead. Lonny and I got to know each other sitting on the sidelines of hockey... "checking the weather " all those years ...when the boys (Casey, Jon, Chris Lee, Marshall Donahue, etc...) were playing hockey against each other. Lonny was genuine, kind and i loved his witty sense of humor then and up to the last day I saw him. He will be greatly missed by so many. He really was a nice man.
