Shawn Lee Fox “Bird Flying in a Cloudless Sky” was born December 16, 1965 to Alvin Hall and Opal Fox. Shawn was an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes, member of Dripping Dirt Clan and a child of the Flint Knife Clan.
She began her education with her Aunt Vivian in Hawaii, then moved to Oklahoma and Idaho. She eventually made her way home to Mandaree, ND.
Shawn enjoyed her life to the fullest. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. She worked at 4Bears casino and Lodge as a dealer, dealing every live came the casino had to offer. Prior to the casino she did everything from working cattle, construction, bus driving to bartending. She had an incredible work ethic, worked hard and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Shawn was very active. She loved to play softball, bowl, darts and play pool. She played pool for Sportsman’s and won several league championships throughout the years. One being the 1999 State A Women’s division. Her team was the first team from Ft. Berthold and native team to win it.
There isn’t enough words to describe Shawn. Once you met her, you wouldn’t forget her.
Shawn had her three daughters Kinda Ann, Dusty Rae and Callie O. Later she met Dennis Fimbres and along came the baby of the family Leticia Lee. After that relationship ended, Shawn and Dennis were best friends and continued a special bond out of the love of their daughter. Shawn always made it known that she loved her daughters with all her heard and was always proud of them. She had 13 grandchildren which were very dear to her heart: Nevada, Garrett, Lane, Wyatt, Mesa, Reata, Trace, Elyssa, Ryder Kinzlee, Chloe, Fierce and Shooter.
She is survived by her mother, Opal Bird, brother Donovan Bird, her 4 daughters Kinda Johnson, Dusty Red Bear, Callie Lee and Leticia Fimbres, her 13 grandchildren and aunt Sharol K. Johnson and many other relatives.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Alvin Hall Paternal Grandparents Freida Grady and James “Bud” Hall, Maternal grandparents Julia and Albert Fox. Brothers Joel Bird and Kendall Fox.
