Lillian Freeman Dasinger, 92, of Sidney, passed away of natural causes, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care, Sidney, MT.
Lillian was born in Williston, ND on July 16, 1926 to homesteader parents, Dorothy Holt and Fay Freeman. She was raised on the Freeman Hereford north of Richey during the Depression. Lillian attended neighboring one room schools, and then boarded in Richey during high school, graduating in 1945. Lillian attended nurses training at the Presentation College of Nursing at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT. After graduation in 1948, she moved to Sidney and began her nursing career as a registered nurse at the Sidney hospital. In 1949, Lillian and Walt Dasinger married in Sidney. Lillian continued her nursing career for 40 years. They raised 3 children in Sidney, John, Becky, and Lynn and were always active in their kids’ activities.
Lillian was active in the Order of Eastern Star, Richland Chapter #62, and was past worthy matron. She was also active in Daughters of the Nile and the VFW Auxiliary. Lillian was a devoted member of Lonsdale United Methodist Church, Sidney, MT.
Lillian was an expert horsewoman, flower gardener, and seamstress. She was a superb care giver t her family, especially her grandchildren. Lillian was an avid golfer, an activity both Walt and Lillian enjoyed in their retirement years along with traveling and visiting their children.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Kendal) Kallevig and Lynn (Rick) Engum, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Linderman, grandchildren, Kendra (Jake) Kallevig Childers, Josef (Heather) Kallevig, Taylor (Hilary) Engum, and Kacie Engum. She was able to meet and enjoy her great grandchildren, Malcolm Kallevig and Andi Jo Engum this past year.
Lillian was preceded in death by her son John and husband Walt.

Memorial can be made to: Richland County Shrine Club, MonDak Heritage Center, Foundation for Community Care, Angel Avenue at Sidney Health Center Extended Care, or Lonsdale United Methodist Church.

Dear Becky, Lynn and Families ~ My deepest condolences to you all on the loss of your Mother & Grandmother. Lillian & Walt made us Kennedy kids feel like part of your family. We enjoyed many holiday meals at your Mom & Dad's house through the years. Lillian genuinely took an interest in us, she was kind & loving.

Lynn and Becky, I'm so grateful to have your mom and your family in our family's lives when we were growing up. I remember your mom's laugh... often after your dad pulled 'a funny'??
