Diane Marie Bellet
August 7, 1944 - November 4, 2018

Place of Birth: Williston, ND
Residence: Springbrook, ND
Age: 74

Diane Bellet, 74, of Springbrook, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at C.H.I. St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Diane was born in Williston, ND on August 7, 1944 to Francis and Olive (Melland) Arcand. She attended school in Epping and Wheelock.

Diane was united in marriage to Dennis Bellet on December 29, 1962 at St. Michael’s Church in Ray, ND. They started their lives together farming in Springbrook, ND.

Surviving Diane is her husband of almost 56 years, Dennis Bellet, and their children; Leslie (Cindy) Bellet of Lead, SD; Gayle (Ron) Brenny of Rothsay, MN; Craig (Vicki) Bellet of Waldorf, MD; and Michael Bellet of Williston, ND. Also surviving Diane are her grandchildren; Brooke (Chad) Anderson, Danielle (Tyler) Evenson, and Grant Bellet; Penny (Adam) Anderson, Ami (Brian) Dunn, Dennis (Haley) Booke, Andrew (Sydney) Booke, Alexis (Spencer) Clark; Elizabeth (Johnathan) Taylor and Chip Bellet and eleven great grandchildren; as well as her sisters; Janice Vinger, Sheila (Deveron) Zubke, and Renitda (Allen) Jeannotte and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Diane in death were her grandparents Lucien and Emma Arcand and Otto and Gunda Melland; her parents Francis and Olive Arcand; her sisters; Marlene Judkins and Connie Muller, and her brother, Curtis Arcand, Mother and father-in-law Kenneth and Esther Bellet-Beard and step father-in-law John Beard; and grandchildren Cynthia Brown Bellet and Kirstin Booke.

In addition to being a loving wife to Dennis and a loving mother to Leslie, Gayle, Craig, and Michael; Diane was extremely supportive of all of the children's endeavors. While always being involved in all of her children’s activities; Diane worked as a cafe manager, a fry cook, and various odd jobs until being appointed the postmaster in Springbrook.

Diane proudly served as the U.S. Postmaster for Springbrook and Epping, ND. Diane retired after an accomplished 22 year career in Government service.

Diane was a constant companion to Dennis while helping to manage the farm by cooking and feeding everyone.

Diane had a very engaging personality that knew no strangers. She was quick to greet everyone with a joke and a smile and made many friends. She loved everyone and they loved her. Diane always carried small tokens of friendship and would gift these items to adults and children alike.

She had many hobbies including the lifelong love of knitting (her dishcloths are in households from Maryland to California), crafting (pickled people), baking (caramel rolls), gardening, traveling (Las Vegas - penny slots), and antiquing (let's make a deal). She also enjoyed having her own rummage sales. Diane was a member of the Springbrook Homemakers, a 4H Leader, and a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 252.
She will be missed!
