I so enjoyed the long conversations Kathi and I had in the barn at the ranch; whether she was helping me clean or had come to see John and found me instead we'd end up having an in depth conversation about something. She was always enlightening and very interesting to visit with. She was a very gracious host. I enjoyed her good cooking both at the house and out in the pasture!!

We shared a love of art, children and fashion but she was better at putting an outfit together than I was! I envied her green thumb and alsolutely loved riding past her yard in the summer - it was beautiful!!

I feel blessed to have been her friend and my heart aches for John, JJ, Kristen and their families - their beautiful centerpiece is gone!

Kathi was such a huge part of our lives for many years not only as piano teacher, and music / band teacher for our sons ~ but as a friend ~ flower gardener buddy ~ and cat lover. Our deepest sympathy goes to your family. I had the pleasure of working with Kathi many years at Wilkinson. She also taught Chelsey piano lessons for many years and had Chelsey and Kris as s students. I've never met a classier lady. Always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. I loved watching her play the piano during the many , many school Programs she orchestrated! It always amazed me at the way she could play flawlessly and never miss a beat, all the while watching the kids and not the piano keys!! My prayers are with you at this time during your loss.

When I was in grade school, Mrs. Hovde was our music teacher. On Fridays she would let us sing songs that were current at the time or there were days where we would let us sing just silly songs. Because of those fun days of singing, I learned a song that I sang to my kids as babies and kids, which I still sing when no one is around. The song was "I Don't Believe It, Do You Believe It." I couldn't remember the second verse so I tried looking it up on the Internet, and believe or not it is not there either. Now I have a fun song to sing to my nieces and nephews thanks to Mrs. Hovde that will be entertaining.

May God comfort you in this time and may the songs your mother taught you bring you happiness and joy.
