I am so sorry to hear of Cliff’s passing! I had recently been wondering about Cliff and had a dream about when he and I were teaching back in Trenton! What a talented man! Cliff had the softest heart and loved all! May he Rest In Peace!

Sad day as a man that rest very high in my memory has passed. Cliff was the greatest band teacher ever, he made all of us at Trenton High School better musicians and better people. He will be missed. All my love, thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Saddened to hear of Mr. Gronfur passing. He along with Mr. Kouba and Mrs Jacobson were tremendous influences on us growing up. Will always remember him while marching us up and down main street practicing for Band Day or a Band trip to Cheyenne or Canada. His Coaching and wanting us all to work hard and do our best. God Bless Mr. Gronfur.

Was sorry to read about Cliff, I worked with him for many years at District 8. He had a kind heart, loved his music and had a hand in the many plays put on in Epping for years. Those were the good days! Rest In Peace my friend.

In sympathy to the Gronfur family in the loss of my dear cousin, Cliff, who was so talented artistically and musically and was so entertaining and fun to be around. He had clever wit with quick spontaneous, humorous comments at the tip of his tongue and he told intriguing stories.
I have such admiration for the person he was and feel blessed to have known him and for the times spent time around him. He will live on in our memories.

Seaside

I taught with Cliff. He was so talented. He painted all the mascots on the Class B school gym walls. He got me involved with Festival 76 with trips to Norway, DC and Philadelphia. His talents will be missed.

Kristi I am so sorry to hear of your uncle Cliffs passing. I remember the days of him sitting on your deck with all of us. He was a great guy.

Sad to hear of Mr. Gronfur's passing. He transformed Trenton School when he arrived, I wasn't yet 12, and he got special permission for me to march with our band in the Calgary Stampede Parade his first year with us, even though I was under the minimum age. Many of us spent long hours painting sets with him for elaborate play productions like a musical version of "Tom Sawyer" at the high school and a melodrama at the community hall. A few of us helped him paint a huge tiger mascot on the wall of the gym. He elevated everything he touched in our community. To the extent that I graduated from high school feeling like a worthy individual, I have to give a huge piece of the credit to Cliff, who said "Of course you can" to so many a young person's undertaking. He is fondly remembered.

It's me again with thoughts of Cliff. He was a man of ideas - fun things to do - family reunion plans - BIG ideas of events, etc. Often his ideas were carried through. He had a way to inspire people. He was a leader.

I had the great pleasure of playing with the Alamo band on the trip to the Calgary Stampede, and going on the Williams County band trip to Bergen Norway in 1970. These are two great trips that I would never have been able to go on without the wonderful vision of Mr. Gronfur. I still remember marching in between the rows of grain bins at Alamo, as Mr. Gronfur said this would be similar to the reverberation we would experience with the tall buildings in Calgary. Thank you Mr. Gronfur for your vision and these wonderful experiences.

He was my uncle and he had my blessings on many of his adventures from boy scouts to band art and many other drama, designs of new billboards with his talent his passing was tough he was the last uncle I had and the end of his family of many aunts and uncles all his sisters and two brothers
