We considered Lauren a dear friend. We looked forward to his calls and visits in Williston.
Due to terrible head colds, we did not make the service today, but he was in our thoughts!

I was on the Budweiser truck in the 90s and used to call on him. I always got a kick out of him especially after I walked into the Skol one morning and it had been broken into so I went across the street to the restaurant and asked him if he had been in the bar yet and he said no why? I said I have! He jumped up so fast! He said how did you get in??? I’ll never forget that! What a great guy, a genuine nice man! He’ll be missed by many!

I am so sorry to hear that Lauren passed away. After my retirement I didn't keep in contact with him as I should have, but I always sent a birthday and Christmas card.
Lauren was a wonderful friend to all the Veterans who rode the Stanley DAV van to the Fargo VA Hospital for their appointments. He was honored a few times for all the volunteer hours he put in and he was proud of that.
On a personal note, we talked about the DAV van schedule once or twice a month and it was fun bantering back and forth.
