Joe is a hero to our family.
He saved the life of our youngest. He spotted her at the bottom of the pool and struggled to get away from the person that was holding him afloat to get to her. His shouting and struggle created enough noise that she was pulled out and resuscitated.

Joe was a good friend that we considered family. He always had words to uplift and comfort and was not afraid to also give the tough love. He had a great sense of humor too and my husband and I enjoyed every conversation with him. He will be greatly missed!

I was shocked and so saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss and send my sincerest sympathies.

There was so much to Joe. I wish I could have had more time to get to see more layers. In one day at camp, he went from helping me with my computer to being a BBQ pit boss. No lie. I will never forget his patient manner in regard to his disability. He said "They'll figure it out.", meaning once you got to know him you would see the whole person. He was absolutely brilliant and had so much to give. I'm honored to have known him and better for it.
