August 28, 2011 Dorvan, Me and Wayne in front of John’s old barn.
Wayne was a favorite visitor of mine to the Hovde Ranch for all the years I rode there. He was an exceptional human and I’m so sad that we’ve lost him.

I got to dance with him once after a trail ride. And I will never forget the day I got to gather cattle with Wayne, Dorvan and John … three legendary horsemen and me … it was a thrill and an honor!

He always made me smile. My heart goes out to his family.

Rural America has lost a Great Man. I’ve known Wayne since the 60’s when he was on the Missouri Valley Fair Board. Always a pleasant Man to visit with and a True Cowboy.

To Connie & Family, so sorry to learn of your fathers passing. My Dad purchased a horse from Wayne 45 or 50 years ago, he always spoke highly of Wayne. Thoughts and prayers to the family

Wayne was a great man and genuine and true Cowboy , He was my go to guy for tips and advice on training my colt and I always enjoyed the trail rides I was on with him even though I felt like a novice around him and John Hovde . He always would tip up his black cowboy hat up and give me his snicker and a joking remark when my horse would act up . He definitely was one of a kind and will be missed. Your all in our thoughts and prayers

Terry & Connie, I am so sorry for your loss. Wayne was so much fun to talk to when he came into town, we would sit have a cup of coffee and would talk about the farm. We are praying for you in this time.

Being raised as neighbors and friends, my parents, Haakon and Evelyn Hove, were in a cattle association with them and others. We neighbored together, going to Beaver Creek Church together, had 4 o'clock coffee time together eating my mother's special chocolate cake. Wayne always had a special place in my heart. As a little girl, I had a childhood crush on him.
My thoughts and prayers for his family and many friends. Gone but not forgotten.
