Violet and Family,

My condolences. I spent a lot of great summers working with C John at the weed board. We was always pleasant and fun to work with, even for a 20 year-old dragging his ass out of bed @ 6 am.

I got to know him even better at the lake, when he would pull up in the sharp looking Ford and share a couple Busch lights with me.

I know it’s been a rough 6-8 months, but know that my family as well as many others are thinking of you guys and here for you, anytime.

God Bless
John Skurupey

This is certainly a sad day, deepest condolences to Violet, Debbie, Doug and Dean. C. John’s passing brings back a flood of memories of camping, fishing and visiting – from the little river to Tobacco, to the Yettredahl bottoms. Good times and great memories. God bless and God speed C. John.

Condolences to the family. I always enjoyed visiting with C John. Loved seeing his shiny Ford pickup! C John framed 2 photos for us after my dad passed. Did great work and those photos have more meaning now.

I had the pleasure of working with CJohn at the Weed Board one summer and he was always full of knowledge of the area.
I once lost my lunch box that was left on the pickup box at the corner of 1806 and I know that man looked everyday in that ditch on the way home for weeks!
He's a wonderfully kind man.
My he rest now.

Dear Violet & Family,
It was truly a sad day when I learned of John passing away. He was our absolutely great neighbor, my summertime employer, my hunting & fishing buddy and, most importantly, my good friend. A distinct memory of him was how he would wake me in the morning to go do chores. My bed was in their basement, and John would come halfway down the steps and loudly say "Russ, it's time to get up --- it's daylight in the swamp"!! I can still hear him saying that yet today!

Another fond memory I have of John is a plan he came up with to protect his sheep. Coyotes had killed a couple of his sheep, and John's plan was for he and I to sleep out in the stubble field near the sheep, with guns at our side, and "ambush" the coyotes when they showed up! What his plan didn't include was a way to cover our scent or any night-vision optics on our guns! Needless to say, we did not shoot any coyotes that night or the next morning; in fact, we didn't even see any coyotes!

We attended John & Violet's "mortgage-burning" party --- another fun & memorable time together.
I will certainly miss C. John Anderson! Rest In Peace, my Friend.
