Mark was a great friend and will be missed dearly. I will miss our conversations about things I had new nothing about. He taught me so much about hunting and fishing. Coming from new jersey I never shot a gun . He had to be the best dad because he was a great teacher. When we in the army we took leave to travel from Kansas to New Jersey, Mark met my family, bus from New York to North Dakota. I met mark's family and we flew back to Kansas. This was the trip of a lifetime. He told me to think of him on my next motorcycle ride and I sure will he will always be one of my very best friends I miss you dearly, your friend jim and his wife Cathy

Mark keeping me company at Merwin's house.
Mark was a great friend to my uncle, Merwin Wieler. When my uncle passed, I first met him at the funeral. Boy the stories! As I was going through Merwin's house, he would come over and keep me company, tell me stories of their shenanigans in their younger years and offer his help. He made that time bearable, as only he could. We kept in touch over the years, since, with long phone calls. During those long phone calls he imparted wisdom about the great outdoors, survival, and lots of humor! Oh, and more stories of my uncle! These conversations made it feel like my uncle wasn't really gone. He was that connection. They are both probably fishing in heaven right now. Mark will surely be missed. My prayers are with you, his family, at this time.
