Marvin Jordan, 59, of Williston, ND, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his shop in Williston, North Dakota.

Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family.

Marv was born to John and Ann (Miller) Jordan in Mott, ND on November 15, 1956. He was educated and graduated in Mott and continued on at Williston State College graduating with a degree in Agricultural.

Marv married Gloria (Beard) on June 1978; the two were blessed with three children, son Gregory Scott and daughter’s Jessica Ann and Jennifer Irene. The twinkle in Marv’s eye was his grandchildren Cory Ryan, Sophie Lynn, and Karsyn Alivia.

Marv worked over 15 years as a Transportation Supervisor for the North Dakota Department of Transportation. He worked proudly though the years at Gaffaney’s of Williston Inc, Horizon Resources, F & J Construction, Beard Construction, Inc., Tri-State Welding, Inc. and numerous other jobs in his lifetime.

He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, American Bowling Association, and Moose Lodge. He was an avid bowler for over 38 years, accomplishing a 299 game. He has won many trophies and awards over the years. He was always willing to help others with their bowling technique.

Marv owned and operated a business of selling firewood, hauling of product and dirt work for many years. He enjoyed owning his own Cat and equipment and being at his shop cutting firewood.

He has volunteered and supported the Pumpkin Patch and Dark Acres Haunt for John Cecil since its conception. He helped out at Demolition Derby's in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota for over 20 plus years; he worked and participated in stock car races and even was a pit man earlier in life.

Marv was a big football fan and always told the referees and players on TV what they were doing wrong.

He hosted a weekly Tuesday night card game at his shop and enjoyed playing cards and conversing with old and new friends. Marv enjoyed having family time with kids i.e. playing cards (Hearts) with Greg, Scott and Taylor and found out only two years ago they cheated. Also he loved playing cribbage with his special buddy, Alex Nelson (Pooh Bear).

Those who knew Marv, mostly remember his laugh, sense of humor and his gift of gab. He was a kind and gentle person and always willing to help others.
Marv tried to teach all of his kids (and the others that he treated as his kids) that if you work hard in life, put others first, have good friends, your life will be a lot easier.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria, his son Gregory Scott and daughters Jessica Ann and Jennifer Irene, Ernest (Carol) Jordan – Mott, ND, Russell (Marion) Jordan – Mott, ND, Delores (Stanley) Hughes – Hillsboro, IL, Jeanette (Earl) Strehow – Bismarck, ND, Carol (Chris) Voegele – Bowman, ND, Mary (Larry) Messer – Mott, ND Elaine (Russell) Mather – Bismarck, ND, Ann (Todd) Bortke – Bismarck, ND, Roberta Myrhra – Fargo, ND and numerous niece, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by parents, John and Ann; three brothers, Lawrence, Gary and Wayne and a very special friend Taylor Nelson.
