Donna was born on January 27, 1938, in Watford City, ND to Walter and Constance (Sorenson) Swigart. She grew up and attended schools in Arnegard, Keene, and Vanhook, ND. Donna and a dear friend moved to Sidney, MT to live. She started working at the Eagle Café where she met the love of her life, Albert Jackson. After dating for only 3 months, they were united in marriage on June 29, 1957, in Sidney, MT, and this year they have been married for 59 years. After the marriage they made their home on A & J Ranch, Albert’s fathers Polled Herford Ranch, until after their children were born. Then they bought property on the same road moved next door to the house they built and moved into in 1965. They have lived there ever since. Do to Donna’s failing health she entered the extended care in 2014 and her husband, Albert, has remain in the house.
Donna raised the children and was an amazing cook, wife, and mother. Donna loved her family and friends, she was a friend to all. She sent flowers, gave gifts, baked, and sent letters, cards, and made phone calls. Donna loved keeping in touch with everyone, and she loved making people feel special.
Donna died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care Facility.
Donna is survived by: her husband, Albert Jackson, Sidney, MT; her son, Allan (Patti) Jackson, Townsend, MT; her daughters, Debbie (Jack) Matthies, Ohiowa, NE, Wanda (Jon) Schroedl, Arlington, WA, and Patty (Chantz) Nelson, Sidney, MT; her sisters, Leone (Ervin) Johnson, LaCenter, WA and Lyla Rutherford, Phoenix, AZ; her 9 grandchildren, Milo, Eva, Kristi, Jessica, Jacob, Kaylee, Colton, Patrick, and Chloe; her 10 great grandchildren, Crystal, Megan, Brandon, Dylan, Kate, Liam, Shayden, A.J., Beau, and Cooper; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
