Mary “Vicki” Dige went to sing with angels in heaven on, Sunday, February 26, 2017, Sidney Health Center, surrounded by family.
Family services are being planned at a later date.
Mary was born Nov. 2, 1941 in Sidney, MT to Pablo and Tila (Jimenez) Vallejo being the first born of 8 children
Growing up in a home full of love she remembers living in the Midway community and loved being in the country. Mary attended a country school with fond memories, at about 8th grade she began school at St. Philomena Catholic School, and she then went to SHS where she was one of the first graduating classes in 1962.
On September 22, 1962, Mary was united in marriage with Robert Herbst in Sidney from this union their 5 children were born. In 1974 Mary and Robert divorced leaving Mary with the challenge of raising 5 kids alone.
Mary began work at Holly Sugar in 1971 in order to care for her children. Mary also enjoyed bartending at the Mint Bar. Days and nights were long but she always did what she had to for her children without complaint.
On Aug 3, 1982, Mary was united in marriage with Gordon Dige, only after asking her children permission he gladly took these children as his own. Mary and Gordon's marriage was short lived as he passed June 2, 1985 in that time we were a family enjoying Dige family reunions, numerous family vacations, as well as camping excitement. After working at Holly Sugar for 28 years, Mary retired in 1996. Mary life began to be filled with her 8 grand kids who filled her heart even more. As Mary always lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed any rodeo she could go to especially PBR, doing ceramics, bowling, reading, doing cross words, puzzles, yards sales, bingo and mostly she enjoyed time spent with friends and family.
Just when she thought her heart was full she was blessed with 2 great grandsons and the knowledge of a third on the way Jaxson and Marshall knew how to fill her heart with love.
We as family have a true legacy to uphold as survivors we continue to honor her: her children, Adam (Jackie), Sidney, MT, Pete, Tuscon, AZ, Wanda (Tallie), Eyota, MN, Dawn (Paul), Sidney, MT, and Valerie, Sidney, MT; her grandchildren, Kim Day (Chris Swenson), Fairview, MT, Karsten (Kayle) Hall, Clearfield, UT, Evan, Sidney, MT, Chris Herbst, Eyota, MN, David (Katelyn) Day, Bartley, NE, Bree (Kyle) Dean, Fairview, ND, Amanda, Sidney, MT, Kasey Day (Casey Raad), Sidney, MT; her great grandsons, Jaxson and Marshall; siblings, Bill (Doris) Vallejo, Amarillo, TX, Angie (Pat) Cormier, Billings, MT, Pete (Jean) Trinadad, CO, Frank (Lani) Vallejo, Amarillo, TX, Rose Herbst, Dickinson, ND, Natalie Vallejo, Sidney, MT, Adrian Vallejo, Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and adopted family
