Clayton Brenna
August 8, 1924 - June 10, 2017

Residence: Minot, formerly of Keene, ND

Clayton Brenna, age 92 of Keene, formerly of Watford City, ND passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Minot, North Dakota. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City is assisting the family.

Clayton was born on the family farm near Sanish, ND, on August 8, 1924, to Eldred and Beatrice (Graue) Brenna and was educated in a one room country school. He graduated from Sanish High School in 1942. He spent time in the service in Korea and was discharged in 1947.

Clayton married Olive Hasby at his parents’ farm on November 1, 1947. They then purchased a farm nearby and lived there until they moved into New Town in 1980, to Watford City in 1996 and then to Minot in 2014.

He continued to farm and ranch until he was no longer able to. One of his greatest joys in life was his wife, to whom he would have been married 70 years in November. He enjoyed bowling, time at the lake, visiting family and friends, but he was most content working.

Clayton was a member of 50 Years in the Saddle Club, and served on the boards of Riverview Township, Independent Oil, Keene First Lutheran Church, New Town Weighing Association, New Town Nursing Home, and on the General Board of the McKenzie County Grazing Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldred and Beatrice; his son, Terry; his sisters, Arline Brenna, Joan Brenna, Fern Ellestad, Evelyn Buerkle and Elaine Doll.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Olive; son, Roger (Kathy) Brenna of New Town, ND; daughter, Glenda (Davis) Littlefield of Bismarck, ND; son, David (Tammy) Brenna of New Town, ND; son, Joel (Sonja) Brenna of Minot, ND; nine grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dolores Schneider of Williston, ND; Eleanor (Jerry) Washburn of Twin Falls, Idaho; Colleen Sherven, Minot, ND; and brother, Owen (Rose) Brenna, Keene, ND.
