Kristy Oyloe, 42, of Williston, ND, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Trinity Medical Center in Minot, ND. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Williston is assisting the family.
Kristy Oyloe was granted her angel wings Sept. 14th, 2017 and for the first time in her 42 years of life she was finally able to fly. We believe that her mom met her with open arms and that it was easy for her to find her way because she just followed grandma. Kristy waited until her grandmas funeral service was over so that in her final moments she could be surrounded by family and friends.
Kristy’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were able to look into her eyes understood that the quality of her existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which she was here with us. Her beautiful smile could melt the hearts of anyone in the room and without saying a word; her happiness could always be heard.
She was never able to really speak, but she could certainly communicate. She had a huge smile and told us with her eyes what she wanted - she'd point to things, and if she didn't like something she'd give you the stare down. She was very intelligent: she could get her needs across and was able to make choices. Others might not have been able to tell what she wanted, but that didn’t stop her determination and strong will.
Kristy may have appeared to be frail to most, but she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. Kristy helped us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She loved to spend time with her dad. She loved horses; she lit up when her brother visited her. She seemed really happy to visit with Grandma Marie and Grandpa Bud. She loved jewelry and would proudly wear anything you would bring her. She loved her nails to be done and she couldn’t drive by those Golden Arches without wanting a McDonald’s cheeseburger and a coke.
Kristy’s life is one to be celebrated. She is no longer bound by physical limitations, she can ride those horses, run as fast as she can, sing with the angels, skip a rock, chase balloons, blow bubbles, be a princess, catch frogs and fulfill every dream… She is free.
We will miss her smile every day, but her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Kristy is survived by her dad, Ron Oyloe, her brother Preston Oyloe, her niece Ondriah Oyloe and her nephew Brody Oyloe, Grandma Sophie Panasuk and Grandpa Bud Anderson. She is also survived by so many special relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mom Barbara, her Grandma Marie Anderson, Grandpa Lloyd Oyloe and Paul Panasuk, and her Uncle Roger Oyloe. Kristy also leaves behind many wonderful caregivers at the Opportunity Foundation that provided love and support, especially Darla Morken. Darla was Kristy’s angel here on earth and she loved her so very much.
