Betty Klevenberg, 87, formerly of Palermo, ND passed away May 26, 2019 at Eventides Sheyenne Crossings of West Fargo, ND.
Betty was born on November 17, 1931 in Bruno, Minnesota to Adolph and Elsie Mae Johnson. The family later moved to Palermo, ND where her dad Adolph, worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad until he was 65 years of age.
Betty was united in marriage to Lyal Enger, and they raised 5 children in Palermo, ND. Lyal passed away in 1968 and she continued to live there for several years.
She later met and married Julian Klevenberg, and they moved to Noonan, ND. She loved to garden, therefore planting a huge garden which was very plentiful and provided vegetables for many family, friends and those who stopped by to admire how big her garden was. She enjoyed most card games especially whist and pinochle, dancing, country music and good old western movies.
Several years later Julian passed away so she decided to move to Tioga to be close to her family. Once her family had moved from Tioga, she decided to move to Hillsboro, ND, in 2013. She continued to live there until she got pneumonia and was transferred to Hillsboro’s hospital and later moved to Sheyenne Crossing of West Fargo, ND until her passing.
Her family was so important to her. She loved her grand children and great-grandchildren. She was able to tell you most of their birthdates even in her later years. Betty was a delightful lady who always had a smile on her face.
Betty is survived by her brother, Chester Johnson of Palermo; children, Rod Enger, Spencer Enger, Arvilla Enger Wolla, Carol Enger Johnson and Terry Enger; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Elsie Mae Johnson; 4 brothers, 2 sisters and grandson, Joey Johnson.
