It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Mary M. Moore
October 9, 1928 - June 25, 2019

Place of Birth: Rural McKenzie Co., ND
Residence: Glasgow, MT formerly of Sidney, MT
Age: 90

Mary passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, MT.
Mary Magdalene Emly was born to parents Moses Peter and Lillian Mae (Schoenberg) Emly, October 9, 1928 in McKenzie Co, North Dakota. She joined half-sister and half-brother Mildred (Mickey) & Richard Cherry. She was joined over the next 14 years by 6 brothers and 4 sisters, and later by half-brothers and sisters.
Mary married Fred J. Kindopp of South Dakota in January 1946 in Fairview, MT. Fred suffered a heart attack in 1959, and passed away suddenly in July 1960, leaving Mary with three young children: Gary Allen Kindopp (10), Jeanne Mae Kindopp (7), and Paige Marie Kindopp (11 months). Later, family helped her move to Sidney, for access to doctoring, then helped her learn to drive and get her driver’s license.
Mary married Irvan Lester Moore of Sidney, MT in October 1966, joining him in operating Les’ Welding Service as well as farm & sheep ranching activities. They were founding member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Sidney, and together with Les, she served as a Civil Defense Director for Eastern Montana for many years during the Cold War. Mary was also a member of Eastern Star.
Mary was again widowed in January 1991, Les having passed away after a more than 3-year battle with complications of an aneurism surgery and leg amputation. During his recovery, she cared for him day and night. Alone for many years, Mary began to suffer memory loss with related issues and glaucoma with cataracts. She moved to Valley View nursing home, Glasgow, MT in the spring of 2015, and passed away there June 25, 2019 at the age of 90.
Mary enjoyed sewing, crafts, making lefse, traveling, collecting sheep memorabilia, and fishing and boating with Les at the cabin on Fort Peck Lake. The whole family still reveres her unique, accidentally invented fish sauce recipe. Oh! and yodeling! She was happy to demonstrate this talent, even as a resident of the nursing home.
Mary is survived by her children: Gary (Linda) Kindopp of Glasgow, MT, Jeanne Johnson of Sidney, MT, Paige George of Billings, MT. Siblings: Marvin (Donna) Emly of Circle Pines, MN, Alice Heinzman of Billings, MT, Roxie (Aubrey “Rusty”) Houchen of Billings, MT, Carol Mort of Great Falls, MT, and Shirley Winstead of Rapid City, SD. She is also survived by half-sisters, Ina Ashcraft of Sidney, MT, and Avis (Lonnie) Falcon of Trenton, ND and half-brothers, Warren (Paula) Emly of Kansas City, MO, Winston (Bonnie) Emly of Notus, ID, Norman Emly of Nampa, ID and Roscoe and Gene Emly of Sidney, MT. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Trenton (Kathy) Kindopp, Bodrey (Deb) Kindopp, Jeremy (Kehanna) Johnson, Hanna (Brad) Wagner, Sage Rugg, and Evan George, and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, brothers Albert, Milo, Donald, Richard Cherry, Miles, Myron and Ronald Emly.

Grandma Mary, Words can not express how sad our hearts are for loosing a women who has been part of my life for the last 19 years. My children’s great grandmother will always have a special place in my heart. We will forever miss her bubbling personality, the patients she taught me. The welcoming of me in her family with open arms. She was such a wonderful person and we will miss her greatly.
