Miguel Edward Touchine, “Maada – Iraaxish” means “Fall Spirit” was born on August 16, 1977, Watford City, ND the son of Savannah Reimer and Yazzie Touchine, Sr.
Miguel was Three Affiliated Tribes of Mandaree and Navajo (Dineh) of Torreon, NM. The Three Affiliated Clan was the Knife Klan from his mother and Navajo Clan was Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle) from his father. He spent his youth in Texas and New Mexico also North Dakota.
Miguel loved to travel and visit family members in various states. He had a large collection of music, also he was an avid gamer.
Miguel lived in Washington State, South Dakota and North Dakota with his wife, Elaine (Bear Ribs-Moreno) Touchine. They have been married for 9 years but have known each other for 11 years.
Miguel was a cherished friend and family member of Rock Creek and Bear Soldier districts of Standing Rock and Puyallup Tribe of Washington State. Miguel was a valuable employee/friend of Coborn’s of Bismarck, ND. He worked in various states as a construction and concrete worker. Miguel was an experienced mechanic to help family members when needed, without hesitation anytime or day.
He was learning to sing traditional songs and native ceremonies. Miguel was a humble and great man to all who knew him, family and friends alike. He was a great father to step-sons, Lucio and Benito Moreno.
He loved spending time with his wife/best friend Elaine and never left each other side in this world. He loved to try different foods and movies from different countries and places with his partner in crime. Miguel was so loved by his family member from Lakota, Mandan, Hidatsa, and Navajo Nations.
Miguel will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Miguel liked to fish and grill out. He loved to spend time camping in his little tent with his wife. They would travel all over together.
Miguel passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
He is survived by: his wife, Elaine Touchine, Bismarck, ND; step-sons, Lucio Moreno and Benito Moreno, both of Tacoma, WA; Aunts, Jeanette Reimer, New Town, ND, and Benita Mata, Presidio, TX; his father, Yazzie Touchine Sr., Torreon, NM; brothers, Carlo Touchine, Dickinson, ND, Myron Touchine and Martin Touchine, both of Torreon, NM; sisters, Andrietta (Ted) Siers, Mandaree, ND, Lucy (Ranny) Touchine, Dickinson, ND, and Shawna Touchine, Torreon, NM; all his cousins, and relatives to many to mention.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Savannah Touchine; sisters, Kimberly and Lucinda Touchine; brother, Yazzie Touchine, Jr.; nephews, Dustin Irwin, Peter Touchine, Roman Touchine, Baby Siers; maternal/paternal grandparents, Ruth Mandan and Edward Black Hawk and Rose and Billy Touchine;uncles, Louise and Benedict Reimer and Clifton Black Hawk; aunts, Corrina Reimer and Joyce Young; cousins, Mario and Maurice White Mountain, and Daniel Reimer.
