Marlys Ann Juma
February 28, 1938 - December 2, 2020

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 82

Marlys Ann Juma was born February 28, 1938 in Stanley, ND the daughter of Herbert & Anna (Jensen) Nohr. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 2, 2020.

Marlys was raised and educated in Palermo, ND where her and her twin sister, Marlene, participated in basketball and cheerleading. On October 12, 1963 Marlys was united in marriage to Charles Juma Jr. They have four children; Bradley Ray, Michelle Rae, Dana Kay, & Candace Fay.

Marlys worked alongside Charles as his “right-hand man” in all aspects of their farming and ranching operation. She still managed to be an amazing mother; cooking and cleaning and making sure everyone was taken care of, putting everyone else before herself. Somehow, she always seemed to be put together with her freshly painted nails and an outfit to match. Marlys & Charles recently made their home in Minot, ND.

Marlys enjoyed her time with her kids, grandkids, & great grandkids. She loved to cook for her family and was well known for making sure no-one left the table without being full… and we mean FULL! Marlys also enjoyed her bowling league, bingo, gardening, crafting, and spending time at the lake with her family. She and Charles enjoyed many trips to Nevada with friends as well as weekly trips to the casino.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran of Ross and an Auxiliary member of the American Legion
Marlys always had an infectious smile that would brighten the room. She was kind, caring, patient and loved her family with her whole heart.

Marlys is survived by her husband, Charles of Minot; daughters, Michelle (Roger) Harstad of Stanley, Dana (Jay) Harstad of Plaza, and Candace (John) Brown of Minot; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Juma of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren, Tyler, Chelsea, and Trevor Harstad of Stanley, Brittney (Lorin) Johnson of Plaza, Jayden Harstad of Plaza, Jayce Harstad of Plaza, Hannah (Josh) Boyko of Bismarck, Chase Brown of Minot; great-grandchildren, Otto and Nora Johnson of Plaza; brothers, LeRoy Nohr of Coon Rapids, MN Robert (Jill) Nohr of Stanley; sister, Donna Jensen of Okanogan, WA; sister-in-law, Marian (Ron) Herfindahl of TX; sister-in-law, AnnaMae (Cal) Wamre of Omaha, NE, and several nieces and nephews.

Marlys was preceded in death by her son, Bradley; parents; twin sister, Marlene; sister-in-law, Joyce Nohr; brothers-in-law, Don Marmon, Dick Jensen and Hassen Juma; sister-in-law Rosie and Wally Chamley.
