Place of Birth: Fayetteville, Arkansas

Michael "Mike" Fifer, 71, of Tioga, ND passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Edgewood Minot Memory Care in Minot, ND. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home of Tioga, ND is assisting the family.

Mike was born July 9, 1949 in Fayetteville Arkansas to Don and Dolores Fifer. From there, they moved to Wheaton, Illinois, where he attended school until 1963. In 1963, Don and Delores moved the family to Tioga, ND, where Mike finished his schooling. After high school, Mike went to work in the oil field for R. A. Prathers and sons, where his long career in the oil industry began. During his time in the oil field, Mike filled many different positions. He started as a hand on the oil rigs, rising through the ranks, first to a rig operator, and eventually to the position of Area Operations Manager. Throughout his career, Mike worked for many different oil companies, spanning North Dakota to Colorado.

Mike married Jeanella Odegaard in 1970. The couple had three children, Julia, Michelle, and Tamara. They were later divorced. Mike married Erma Moe in 1994, the mother of his son, Randy Scott Moe. They were later divorced.

One of Mike’s favorite stories he liked to tell was one of the times he won a trip for the whole family to Wisconsin by being the top sellers of the Chicago Tribune that year. He also liked to tell people about John Belushi, who was one of his classmates growing up. Mike loved to hunt, fish, golf, and basically anything else outdoors. He was a proud supporter of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Mike was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan, and loved his John Elway memorabilia. He had a strong rivalry between the Broncos and the Cowboys. He also liked watching the Minnesota Twins Baseball team. He loved old cars, and took pride in his rare 1964 Chevy Impala SS. Anyone who knows Mike, also knows that he was very opinionated when it came to topics such as music and cars.

He is survived by his children, Randy Scott (Heidi) Moe, stepson Jonathan (Diane) Nelson, Julia Bramblett, Michelle (Mike) Davis, Tamara (Nolan) Hasbrook; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; siblings, Brett (Glenda) Fifer, Debbie (Lyle) Braun, Karen (Wayne) Wangerud, Scott (Linda) Fifer, Gary (Lynette) Fifer, Terry (Kris) Arason; aunt, Neoma Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Dolores Fifer; son-in-law, Danny Bramblett.

Mike was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
