Hamed Juma Sr.
June 12, 1927 - December 28, 2021

Place of Birth: Ross, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 94

Hamed Juma Sr., 94, of Stanley, ND passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence in Rosen Place in Stanley, ND.

Hamed Sr. was born to Sam and JoHannah (Johnson) Juma on June 12, 1927 near Ross, North Dakota, and was the second oldest of his seven siblings. Hamed attended the Ross School until the 8th grade when he left to help work on the family farm.

He met and fell in love with Zina Hattum from Ponteix, Saskatchewan, and the couple was married on November 10, 1950 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Together they began their life working on various farms and ranches in the area. They bought their own farm in March of 1969 just north of Manitou, North Dakota. They farmed and raised cattle, gardened, and milked cows all of their farming life. Here is where they would have and raise their three sons; Sammy, Alley (Mike), and Hamed Jr. Hamed Sr. and Zina were happily married for 68 years until she passed away on January 10, 2018.

Hamed was always a hard worker, and he always enjoyed farming and ranching. He was a very friendly person to everyone he met or visited with. He moved into Rosen Place where he received the greatest of care from the amazing staff and nurses, and had many laughs while joking and kidding with all the staff and fellow residents.

Hamed Sr. is survived by his three sons; Sam (Beverly) Juma of Ross, ND, Mike (Judy) Juma of Williston, ND, and Hamed Jr. of Stanley, ND; sister, Lila Gader of Swift Current, SK; grandchildren, Jeanine (Jeremy) Saeman, Raylan (Jess) Juma, David (Marie) Juma, Scott (Brandi) Juma, Mark (Dakota) Juma, and Christine Juma; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Hamed Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Sam and JoHannah; his wife Zina; his siblings, Marian, Fatima, Martha, Joseph, and Kalled; great-granddaughter, Meadow; and many relatives.
Thank You
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Rosen Place for their amazing care for Hamed these last couple of years.

Sam and Bev, we are sending you our most sincere sympathies. He lived a long, wonderful life, I truly think one of a kind, that was filled with hard work, love, family and friends. He is with his wife and those who went before him, we can't feel bad about that. Sam, you look so much like him, and I'm sure you all are his pride and joy yet. Healing hugs my friends.
