Kyle P. Devlin
December 5, 1983 - April 14, 2023

Place of Birth: Williston, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 39

Kyle Patrick Devlin, 39, of Williston, ND, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on April 14, 2023, at his home in Williston, ND, after losing his battle to alcoholism.

Kyle was born on December 5, 1983, to Donald and Kim Devlin in Williston, ND. He was the firstborn, making them very proud parents. Kody and Quinn were his two younger brothers and partners in crime growing up. He made sure to let them know who was boss but also looked out for their best interests, especially Quinn.

From a young age, Kyle was a businessman at heart. Paper routes, a lawn mowing business, and being a stock market investor in the eighth grade were just a few of his money-making endeavors. He also enjoyed being out at the family farm and could drive any piece of equipment his dad needed.
Kyle graduated from Williston High School in 2002 and studied for one year at the University of North Dakota. Even though his family wanted him to put his talents to use at cooking school, he opted to work in the oilfield before taking over management of Big Sky Batteries.

One of Kyle’s greatest joys was being an uncle. He loved buying his nieces and nephew extravagant gifts and taking them on McDonald’s runs or to the gas station for the best jumbo peanut butter cookies. He attended lots of “not so exciting” dance recitals and hockey games.

Kyle’s closest companion was his three-legged dog, Harley. He never went too far without her and made sure she never missed a meal (or snack). The thing he cared for almost as much was his shiny, white truck. To see it dirty was a rare occasion.

Kyle was the cook of the family. He loved an opportunity to impress everyone with his above par culinary skills. Holidays meal were over the top if he was in charge. Kyle always tried to find a way to help others who had a need and most recently went to Sanibel, FL, to assist with hurricane cleanup. His smile, laugh, and cooking skills will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Kyle is survived by his Grandma Re; parents, Donald “Chip” and Kim; brother, Kody (Bethany) and children, Londyn, Brocktyn, and Monroe; brother, Quinn (special friend, Alexis); beloved aunt, Claudette and uncle, Myles; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins; and close friends, the Andre Family. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Tink and Fran; grandpa, Donald; uncle, Bill and aunt, Dianne; uncle, Randy; and uncle, Chris.

If you are someone struggling from addiction, know that every breath is a fresh start. Know that hundreds of thousands of families who have lost someone to this disease are praying and rooting for you. Know that we believe with all our hearts you can and will make it. It is never too late.

We take comfort in knowing that Kyle is surrounded by light, free from the struggle that haunted him. We would have given anything for him to experience that freedom in this lifetime. Our grief over losing him is infinite. And now so is he.
