Roberta Andrette Lone Bear (Red Sun Woman) of New Town, North Dakota passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones (July 1st, 2023) Roberta was born to her late father Ronald Lone Bear Sr. and Jovonne Fox in Dickinson ND April 10, 1983. Roberta was a wild but kindred spirit who loved to travel making her home in several places, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Mexico, Berta as a single mother raised Antonio, Liliana, Pablo, and Willian.

Roberta has 4 siblings from her mom, Jovonne Fox: Troy Fox, Ruth Lone Bear, Jewell White Tail, and Nelson White Tail. Berta and her sisters would practice fancy shawl dancing in the living room or sing karaoke to Madonna or Mariah Carey. Berta enjoyed lying in bed listening to music and talking with her mom and sisters. Berta liked to dance or being flung around in the living room to Bobby Brown with her big brother, Troy Fox. She always got a good laugh joking with her younger brother, Nelson. JoVonne wanted to stay close with her sister, Terrilynn, and decided to move to Flandreau, SD. Berta went to high school in Flandreau then moved to Omaha.

Roberta also had 3 siblings from her Dad, Ronald Lone Bear Sr.; Ruby ,Lena, Ron Jr. She formed a relationship with them when she moved to New Town.

Roberta loved and cherished as her own: Tain Pourier, Collin Danks, Jacob Montreal, and Neveah Finley.

In 2014 Roberta and her children made their nest in New Town ND. Berta worked at Fort Berthold Housing, Better Bs, Players Pub, and Teddy Residential Suites. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it was going to the lake, fishing, camping, going for a drive, playing pool, darts, and playing board games with her children (Cheating in Monopoly). She loved taking her children to the parks, malls, and movies. She encouraged her children to read by taking them to the library.

Roberta is survived by; JoVonne Fox, Liliana Lone Bear, Antonio Jimenez, Pablo Lone Bear, Willian Lone Bear, Jewell White Tail, Troy Fox, Nelson White Tail, Lena Lone Bear, Ruby Lone Bear, Ronald Lone Bear Jr, Leland Fox Sr., and many aunts’, uncles’, nieces and nephews.

Roberta was preceded in death by: Donita Knight (grandmother), Ruth Anne Lone Bear (sister), Terrilynn Fox (aunt), her father Ronald Lone Bear Sr.
