Sandra Maples, 68, of Williston died Friday, September 22, 2023 of injuries sustained in an accidental fall in her home.

Sandra “Mama” Maples was born to Anabel Collins on October 22, 1954, in Morristown, TN. Sandra was blessed with five children and eleven grandchildren. Sandra’s love for her children and grandchildren was endless. She was the matriarch of her family and dedicated her life to raising her children and making sure they had everything they needed. She was a mama to anyone that called her Mama, and she gave her love and advice to many that did. Sandra loved decorating, raising houseplants, and gardening, and brought beauty and comfort everywhere she was. Sandra worked hard and enjoyed her years of service at Wal-Mart in Williston, ND, where she made many beloved friends. Her beaming personality would make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Sandra was overjoyed to make a trip back to Tennessee in summer of this year to see her children and grandchildren back home. Sandra loved her dog, Isabel, and would spoil her with her shared dinners after much back-and-forth sassing. She also came to love Steve’s dog, Bear, and he would always get lemon drops from her. She loved music, especially Elvis, Willy Nelson, Loretta Lynn and the Judds, scary movies and podcasts, and thunderstorms. She loved spending time with Sandy, Steve’s mom. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Kailey.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother Anabel Collins, sister, Janice Faye, and son Dale Young, Jr.,Grandson Corey Wolfe, beloved pet Peanut “Maples”.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Massey, her children; Lois Wolfe and spouse Craig Wolfe and their children, Amy Hays and Kimberly Holberg; Angela Giddings and spouse Raymond Ford, and their children, Cassie Wilder, Cheyenne Ford, Sierra Ford, Kendra Ford, Robert Ford and Dustin Ford; Robert Maples and his son Gauge Maples; and Carol Ann DiGiulio and her spouse Stephen DiGiulio and their daughter Kailey DiGiulio.

She will be missed at Walmart. My husband worked with her and I use to work with her. She was a very sweet lady.

I was so sad and shocked to hear about Sandra's passing. I saw her frequently at Walmart and always enjoyed our interactions. She will be missed. God bless her and her family.
