It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Robert "Bob" K. Torgerson
January 26, 1946 - September 3, 2023

Place of Birth: Williston, North Dakota
Residence: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Age: 77

Robert “Bob” K. Torgerson passed away peacefully at his brother’s home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on September 3, 2023, after battling Alzheimer’s for several years. He was born in Williston, ND, on January 26th, 1946, and attended school in Bainville, MT, Williston, ND, and graduated from high school in Minot, ND. After high school, he went on to college at Minot State and graduated with a B.A. degree in business.

Robert was an entrepreneur his whole life. In the 70’s he teamed up with Ardean Aafedt to form Energy Resources wherein they bought and sold thousands of leasehold acres in the Williston Basin and drilled several oil wells in the basin. After selling Energy Resources, he moved to Las Vegas and soon began buying and selling land, forming partnerships to buy real estate, along with continuing to buy and sell oil and gas leases, and buy and sell oil and gas minerals.

Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing growing up, and later, golf was his favorite sport. He developed some great friendships through the game of golf at the Las Vegas County Club. But it goes without saying, if you can call business a sport, then that was absolutely his favorite.

Robert is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Loretta) Torgerson and Dick Torgerson; his sisters, Cheris Meek and Kathy (John) Wegleitner, his brother-in-law Bob Carroll, along with several nephews, a niece, and many great nieces and nephews along with special friends, Kim and Vallana Wulkan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Torgerson, Audrey Torgerson and Stella “Lister” Torgerson; and his sisters, Kathy Carroll and Darlene Morud, and his sister-in-law Sharon Torgerson.

Memorial Contribution
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Robert’s name.

Torgy, I remember you from williston. Still got minerals from the baaken oil field . My father, george howard, worked for you at energy resources. I remember fishing trips with you. I used to water your trees and lawn outside of williston. RIP torgy. Dan Howard.

Love you Torgy! thanks for being my kids other Dad. You taught them things I probably “wouldn’t” have?? Easter at your place was always fun,Big Fork visits are such a good memory, arranging Ed and my wedding in Vegas, so much fun and laughing, shopping with me to get the perfect outfit for my kids weddings, helping choose and cut the perfect Christmas Tree in the snow in Michigan, being a good man, loving us!!

Bob came to work for my grandpa right after high school going custom combining. He told me he figured out soon that the real action wasn’t driving combine but riding around in the pickup with my grandpa learning how to do deals. I myself got to help Torgy, as we called him, doing mineral leasing in Colorado and also ND. He taught me a lot about minerals and many other things.
He was such a good talker and excellent at making new friends. We’d walk in an eatery and it wasn’t uncommon for someone else to join us who Torgy befriended while we waited for a table.

He had so many stories from the old days of Williston. I wish I would write a book about it. He will be missed by my family.

Bob was a regular at my dad's office in the days of Taurus Corporation and other pursuits. Always good natured. Sad for his passing. RIP, Bob!
