Susan Matte, 73, of Stanley, ND passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Sanford Health Bismarck in Bismarck, ND.

Susan would like to let you all know, her work here on Earth is done. She received an invitation she could not refuse– one that allowed her to reunite with the family and friends she has not seen in a very long time. This invitation allowed her to go to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and reading to her heart’s content.

She came into this world as a child of Clara (Larson Studney) and Stanley Myrvik. She grew up with siblings Sandy, Victor, Kevin, Paula, and Leslie. She married Dennis Laumeyer and together they welcomed son Darren into the world.

Susan spent much of her time devoted to teaching children. She worked as a teacher and volunteered in church school. She had a soft spot for all her grandchildren and gave generously of her time and always sent them cards and trinkets for each memorable occasion.

She married Larry Matte and in the twilight of her time with us, her and Larry enjoyed each other, their verbal sparring, their beautiful blended family, and socializing with friends. They especially enjoyed traveling across the country with their RV.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Matte; sister, Paula Studney; brothers, Leslie Studney and Victor (Sue) Studney; son, Darren (Andrea) Laumeyer; step-sons, James Matte, Richard and Josiah Green; grandchildren; nieces and nephew; and cousins.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Clara (Larson Studney) and Stanley Myrvik; step-father, Victor Studney; brother, Dale Myrvik; sister, Sandra Myrvik; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws.
