Lola G. (Hanson) Mootz, 86, of Williston, ND passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. Lola was born on May 25, 1937 in the farming community of Northwood, ND where she attended schools and graduated in 1955.

On December 29, 1956 Lola was united in Marriage to Harlan “Bud” Mootz from McVille, ND. They were blessed with 4 children, Pam, Kim, Monica, and Hal. They were married for 52 years until the passing of her beloved Bud in 2009.

Lola was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Rural Williston, where she played piano for services throughout the years. Lola’s love for music was a constant in her life. She had her favorites and never tired of listening to their music.

She was a loving grandma to Levi, Chantel, Amanda, Lyndsey, Jade, and Jordyn. Lola loved the times she spent attending her grandkids school functions, activities, sports events, and family get togethers.

From Grandma she became Nana to Madison, Amara, Harley, Liam, Alayna, Audrey, Whitney, Jaxson, Jovie, Hadlee, Isacc, and Henry.

Lola passed from those who loved her so only to be re-united with those gone on before her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; daughter, Pam; brother, Prentice; brothers-in-law, Mike Mootz, Leonard Paintner, Paul Klug, and Larry Mastre; her parents; parents-in-law, and granddaughter, Kara.

Lola is survived by her children, Kim (Steve) Johnston, Monica (Ken) Moore, and Hal Mootz; son-in-law, Daryl Hodnefield; siblings, Marilyn (Ron) Roch, Susie Walsh, Linda Mastre, Ardell (Marlys) Hanson, and Jim Hanson; sisters-in-law, Vonnie Paintner, Sharyn (Norris) Sundeen, and Jeanine Mootz. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I am so sorry to hear of Lola’s passing. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Bud Mootz. Just think about the reunion of these two are having. What a joyful time for them, yet so sad for all of us left here. Prayers and hugs being sent to you all. Keep all your memories close.

I will always remember Lola's smiling face and tapping feet when the Wetheads were playing our Bluegrass and Gospel music. She was always complimentary and asking for more! My deepest condolences to all the Mootz family! And rejoice her reunion with Bud and Pam and all those gone before her.
