July 13, 1968 - February 27, 2024

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 55

Morgan J. Niemitalo, 55, of Stanley, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at his home in Stanley, North Dakota.

Morgan was born to Diana (Metzler) and Lars Niemitalo on July 13, 1968, in Stanley, North Dakota. He was the youngest of seven siblings and graduated from Stanley High School. Later he graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science as an Electrical Technician, class of 2000.

Growing up, Morgan enjoyed giving his matchbox cars a new paint job, riding his bike in the summer, and taking things apart just to put them back together. After graduating high school he tried his hand at various jobs, before discovering his gift as a carpenter with Sveen Construction. Throughout the years Morgan also worked as an electrician and an independent contractor, as well as working with Springan Furniture and Prairie Ford. In 1998 he married Joy Chapin and they had two daughters Hannah and Olivia.

Morgan loved taking his daughters camping and hiking. He collected all kinds of flashlights and pocketknives, often gifting them to his daughters. He loved to tease kids, and he was always goofing around to make them laugh. And he enjoyed taking care of and spending time with his canine besties Clyde and Waylon.

In February 2020 Morgan became grandpa to his first granddaughter Mavis and later that year in October, he became grandpa to Iris. Two beautiful granddaughters in one year was such a blessing to Morgan, he was always so excited to see the new babies. Then in 2022 Cedar was born and made Morgan a very happy grandpa of 3!

Morgan attended the Gospel Tabernacle Church in New Town, where he was the handyman, assisting in anything they needed him to help with. He also served on the church board for many years until his passing.

Morgan is survived by his daughters, Hannah Niemitalo and Olivia (Ryan) Higgins; his granddaughters, Mavis Conley, Iris Higgins, Cedar Higgins; his mother, Diana Niemitalo; his sisters, Sonya Halvorson, Shawn (Dan) Walter, Julie Niemitalo, Rachel (Thomas) Lonier; his brother, Jett Niemitalo.

Morgan is preceded in death by his father, Lars Niemitalo; his sister, Aleta (Russell) Sveen.
