August 3, 1966 - March 9, 2024

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Battleview, North Dakota
Age: 57

Brian Schroeder, 57, of Battleview, ND, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at his residence in Battleview, ND, ND.

Brian was born to Duane and Loretta Schroeder on August 3, 1966 in Stanley, ND. He attended Powers Lake School and graduated with the class of 1984. After graduation, he went to work for a farmer and then later went to work in the oilfield.

His daughter Kelsey was born on September 10, 1991. Brian married Lynn Godejohn and from this union, his daughter Shelby was born on January 4, 1999. Brian and Lynn divorced and he moved to Minot for a few years and cooked at various locations. He then moved back to Battleview to help take care of his mom.

Brian loved to make sure the yard looked nice and was always outside mowing or taking care of his garden. He loved hanging out in his “He Shed” and visiting with his cousins. He loved when family and friends would come over to visit and play cards and backgammon. Brian enjoyed cooking and was always trying to feed everyone when they came over.

Brian always made sure to take care of the many stray cats that came to the yard to visit. He ended up with a couple house cats that he also loved very much. He even taught one to play fetch.

He will be missed so much!

Brian is survived by his mother; daughters, Kelsey (Lyle) Donoven and Shelby Schroeder; grandchildren, Kaydence, Deklyn, Josephine, Daegher, and Dallas Donoven; brothers, William Ulledahl and Thomas Ulledahl; sisters, Laura (Rick) Weinmann and Lisa (Greg) Holmen; Aunts Theadora (Dean) Burau, and Evelyn Buffington and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

I have only known Brian for a few years and wish it could have been more. I enjoyed our visits back to Battleview, Lonnie and I would pick Brian up and we would go for drives out in the country and I would listen to them tell stories of their childhood together and of the shenanigan's that they had as they grew older. We would stop in at a local bar along the way and stories would continue as one of them would have one better then the other. Those times will be missed as Brian was so pleasant to be around. Very kind, polite and soft spoken. He had a special love for his cats which was visible with all the cat beds he had on the deck and in his shed for them. You left this world way to soon, you will be missed Brian! Hugs!
