Our beloved mother, Judy Ann Moberg passed on April 30, 2024 at Tioga Medical Center. Judy was born April 15, 1954 in Stanley, ND to Wesley and Viola Johnson. She was raised in Tioga, eventually meeting her husband, Roger and was united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga on January 12, 1973. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Judy and Roger built their home on the family homestead beginning in 1976.
Judy showed compassion, strength and resilience. She was always ready to support the underdog and never backed down no matter the circumstances. Once you were in her favor, you knew you had a confidante for life.
In her earlier years she spent much time taking care of their cattle. She was excellent at keeping the cattle healthy while Roger worked in the oilfield and they both worked tirelessly keeping the entire operation going. She loved her cattle and was quite impressive at doctoring sick calves that most would have given up on. Roundup with the cattle every spring was a fun event as many friends gathered to help and enjoy her wonderful steak dinner. Judy was an excellent cook just like her mother Viola and sister Wanda. The Moberg house held many Thanksgivings and other holidays, always with enough food to feed three times as many people.
Judy took pride in her yard and flowers, always wanting to make sure she planted moss roses every year just as her beloved Grandma Tillie had done. At times they had chickens, pheasants, miniature horses, ponies, horses and many dogs such as St. Bernards (who had many puppies), poodles, cats and a couple raccoons.
Judy took great pride in her family, her greatest joy was her grandkids. She had special relationships with each of them and enjoyed her time with them.
She is preceded in death by her mother Viola; father, Wesley Sr.; and her beloved Grandma Tillie who she spoke of very lovingly her whole life.
Judy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roger; daughters, Tammy Valliere and Stacey (Scott) Vejtasa; son, Bryan Moberg; as well as grandchildren, Carter, Megan, Asha, Addison, Brinley, Cora and Darci. Also survived by her two older siblings, Wesley James Johnson (Janet) and Wanda (Larry) Dokken; uncle, Richard Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Recent years were spent drinking coffee, watching news, debating politics and current events. As a final wish, she would encourage you all to Make America Great Again and vote for Donald J Trump!
