Wilmer Roloff
November 14, 1957 - June 30, 2024

Residence: Tioga, North Dakota

Wilmer Roloff, 66, of Tioga, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, under the care of hospice.

Wilmer was born on November 14th, 1957 to Curtis and Verena (Shefstad) Roloff in Powers Lake, ND. He grew up in McGregor, ND and attended grade school there. He graduated from Tioga High School and continued his education at Wahpeton, ND to become an auto body technician. He owned and operated Roloff Auto Body in Tioga for 30 years.

He and Mary Ellen Anderson were married on August 11, 1990 in Minot, ND. They are parents to three children - Kristian, Janna, and Tanner.

Wilmer was always supportive of his kids' pursuits. He was a strong leader and made countless sacrifices for his family.

Wilmer fished and hunted most of his life and went on hunting trips with some of his lifelong friends in his earlier years.

As the years have passed, he preferred to stay put around Tioga, but he did make a few trips to Las Vegas with family.

Wilmer was a stand up, honest guy who anyone could depend on. If you told him a secret, it was safe with him. If he said he would do something, he absolutely would. He had a laugh and quick wit that filled the Roloff home with fun.

He was thoughtful, practical, and prepared. His pockets and wallet were fully stocked with items others might need, such as: guitar picks, bobby pins, and a small screwdriver. And if you asked for one of something, he probably had three.

One way of showing love for his family was through food. He made note of favorite snacks and made sure they were around. He was always cooking supper for everyone. One of the first things he did each morning was make Mary her tea and a nutrition shake. He kept the freezers well-stocked with curated recipes of deer sausage, jerky, and walleye.

After retiring from the auto body business, he worked at the Tioga City Park. Then he became the maintenance man at the Community Center, where he had a special bond with his coworkers.

He continued working and spending time in his garden after the cancer diagnosis up until a couple months prior to his passing.

He will be missed by so many down here. As a believer in his Savior Jesus, we can rest easy knowing he's at home in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Roloff; children, Kristian (Aretzi) Roloff, Janna (Arnulfo) Rojas, and Tanner Roloff; sisters, Carol (Jack) Gossman, Connie (Rod) Brumlow; brother, Verdean (Terry) Roloff; brothers-in-law, Manley (Debbie) Anderson, Peter (Harla) Anderson, Brian (Pat) Anderson; sister-in-law, Wendy (Kery) Mortenson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wilmer was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cleone Thorvilson; father-in- law, Donald Anderson; mother-in-law, Barbara Anderson; brother-in-law, David Anderson; niece, Jacqueline Gossman; and nephew, Cody Anderson.
