Jenelle Holly Fevold
December 17, 1959 - August 26, 2024

Place of Birth: Watford CIty, North Dakota
Residence: New Town, North Dakota
Age: 64

Jenelle Holly Fevold was born on December 17, 1959 in Watford City, North Dakota to Rebekah (Turner-Black Hawk) Canyon and Cliften Black Hawk. Her parents were married in the traditional Hidatsa custom. She was the oldest child and the only daughter out of this union.

Jenelle is a proud member of the Dripping Dirt Clan.

She attended elementary, middle and high schools in Mandaree, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Fargo, Watford City, and Flandreau Indian School. She received her welding certificate at Kicking Horse Job Corps (Montana), and her Nursing Degree at United Tribes Technical College (North Dakota). She worked at Motor Lodge, New Town Nursing Home, and CHR Program, Healthy Start Program, and Four Bears Casino and Lodge until her eyes prevented her from being gainfully employed.

One of Jenelle’s fondest memories was when she and Beulah Freeman officially adopted each other as sisters during the Little Shell Celebration!

In her youth, she enjoyed horse riding, cross stitching, and crossword puzzles. As she matured, she enjoyed visiting with others, attending Bingo, and “Going on the Road” truck driving with John. John Fevold stole her heart for many years and finally they were married in 2000. From this union, their son Jason and daughter Martina were born.

Jenelle peacefully passed away on Monday August 26, 2024 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND with family by her side.

Jenelle is survived by her mother, Rebekah Canyon; sisters Helen Black Hawk, Rhonda (Robin) Hall, Mable Snow Bird, Sherry (Ted) Lone Fight, and Vivian Hall; brother Orlando Black Hawk; daughters Brandy Jo Canyon and Martina Fevold; grandchildren Bethrechay Howling Wolf, Martinez Canyon, Kambrelle Stangle, Juylia Stangle, Stormey Rayne Yellow Wolf (Frank and Lynn Yellow Wolf), Cory Brown, and Blessing Canyon; and great-grandchild Lovely Howling Wolf.

So sorry about Jenelle. I found a scripture I like to share at JW.org, Acts 24:15, "there is going to be a resurrection," I wish your family the very best for the future.
