James “Jim” Seibel, 68, of Ross, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at his home in Ross, North Dakota.
James was born on February 13, 1956 in Minot, North Dakota to Eddie and Helene Seibel. He attended Stanley High School and received his diploma. After he graduated, he worked side by side with his father, Eddie and brother, Robert at Seibel and Sons Construction. They traveled and built steel buildings, grain bins, and gas plants all over the Midwest.
In the early 90’s Jim began trucking over the road for various companies and for local farmers like Syd Craft. He did this for several years before he began slip form construction in various places around the Midwest. He was the first Seibel to begin the 20-year tenure at Hit or Miss Lanes Bowling Alley in Stanley, North Dakota. He left North Dakota for a time and then returned to Ross, North Dakota in the mid 2000’s to work with brother, Robert and son, Justin doing various types of construction.
He was a meticulous carpenter and was known for his skill in taking apart and putting things back together, whether it be autos, houses, or the Ross School. Jim loved to work in the shop on many motors, and all parts of cars and trucks. He was very self-sufficient and love to build even in his spare time, especially massive train sets.
Jim is survived by his children, Justin of Ross, ND, Brandin (Robyne) of Pierre, SD, Sara of Pierre, SD, and Jacob (Christa) of Pierre, SD; grandchildren, JJ, Joshua, Ronnie, Elliot, Owen, Jazmine, Reagan, Harley, and Jessa; sister, Delores (Glenn) of Blaisdell, ND; and brother, Jack (Connie) of Minot, ND.
