Robert G. Candee
May 23, 1942 - September 26, 2024

Place of Birth: Fairview, Montana
Residence: Richey, MT formerly of Fairview, MT
Age: 82

Robert “Bob” Candee was born on May 23, 1942, in Fairview, MT. He was the youngest child of Alfred and Fay Candee. He graduated from Sidney High School and then attended Montana State University-Billings studying History.

After college, Bob went back to his roots, returning to his parent’s farm to start his career and life farming and ranching. Bob eventually started his own farm just north of Richey, MT and was very involved in the Richey High School FFA chapter, donating his time and money to make sure there were resources available for young farmers. The FFA building at the Richey High School was named in his honor and he will continue to provide scholarships for local students in his memory.

Bob’s passion for farming also inspired him to run for U.S. Senate in 2002 to protect the farmers and rural communities of Eastern Montana.

In 1963, Bob married Judy Roberts and together they started a family, having three children: Tanya, Bryan and Boyd.

Bob passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at the age of 82 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care in Glendive, Montana with family by his side.

Bob is survived by children Tanya (Gene Asbeck) and daughters Monica, Melissa, and Kathryn; Bryan (Lynsay Candee) and daughter Tysan; Boyd (Jamie Candee) and children Milo and Maeve; and sister Charlotte (Jim Kennedy) and children Jason Scott Hukill and Tracy Rude. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Fay Candee.

Thank you for everything you have taught me and being the one to give me the love of agriculture & the love those "bossy cows." I will miss our weekly phone calls & our visits. But most of all, I will miss my adopted dad!

My sincere condolences to Bob's family - have known Bob for many many years - his generosity will be remembered by all the students that received the "Robert Candee Scholarship" - he is remembered with a smile and may he rest in peace. God Bless you all.
