Deborah "Deb" Swazey
July 24, 1952 - September 27, 2024

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 72

Deborah Rae Swazey, 72, of Stanley, North Dakota passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Debbie was born to Raymond and Bernice Fenstermacker on July 24, 1952, in The Old Fisher House in Stanley, ND. In 1968 she went to work at the Snooker Room (Pool Hall) as a waitress. Deb graduated from Stanley High School in May of 1970.

In November 1970 she married Robert Nohr. They moved to Parshall, ND where she worked as a dispatcher. In May 1973 their son Todd was born, and in May 1974 their daughter Misty was born. They soon moved back to Stanley, and Debbie started working at the cafe inside the bowling alley where she also joined the bowling league. Later she worked at the Dairy Queen with her mom & sister. Robert and Debbie divorced, then she decided to go to work for Northern Improvement throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. While running packer for Northern Improvement in Ranchester, WY, she met Karl Shane and married him on April 1,1985. In 1986 they moved to Casa Grande, AZ, where she worked at a local bar/cafe as waitress. They later divorced. Debbie met Roger Swazey, and they decided to move back to Stanley. After 11 years together they got married, also on April 1. Together they bought the Westside Lounge in Stanley and had that for a few years. She later worked at the Two Way as a waitress, cook, and bartender. She also enjoyed cooking on Fridays at the Golden Age Club.

Debbie could make friends with anyone she met by captivating them with her unique sense of humor and telling them stories about her life. She enjoyed playing cards and challenging anyone willing to a game of pool. For years she occupied her time by competing with her all-girls team in the pool league. Debbie was known for her big smile, strong will, creativity, boundless sarcasm, satire, and most of all her witty humor. She always looked forward to getting together with family for the holidays, playing games with everyone, and of course playing pranks on the grandkids when she got the chance. We will miss her contagious laugh, wild stories, and her jokes.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bernice Fenstermacker; brother, Bernard Fenstermacker (Corky); and husband, Roger Swazey.

Debbie is survived by her son, Todd (Selina) Nohr; daughter, Misty Zuchara (Travis Charnetzki); grandchildren, Liberty Zuchara (Cole Eckmann), Logan Zuchara (Tibbs Moore), Remington, Colt, and Tawni Nohr; great grandchildren, Layana, Lyvia, and Lenora Moore, Claasen Eckmann; sister, Pat (Gene) Brown; brother, Allen Fenstermacker (LaDonna Kinnion); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
