Place of Birth: Williston, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 90

Harvey Laverne Skaare passed away October 2, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Williston, ND at the age of 90.

He was born July 22, 1934 in Williston, ND, the son of Palmer and Magnild Skaare. He attended school in Alamo, ND and graduated high school in 1952.

Harvey met Marlene Hagen in Williston and they were marred September 19, 1959 in Arnegard, ND. To this union, two children were born. They made their home in Williston for over 64 years.

Harvey worked at Thomas Auto for 16 years and ND State Highway Department for 26 years. Upon retirement they enjoyed traveling.

His family and his faith were very important to him, he and his wife were members of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church for over 60 years.

Next to his love of the Lord and his family was his love for sports. He played sports growing up, coached a softball team and if you stopped by the house there would be a ballgame on TV. He passed on his love of sports to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and remodeling and updating their home.

Harvey is survived by his son, Brad (Carrie) Skaare of Windsor, CO; daughter, Kim (Randy) Blotsky of Williston, ND; his brother, Keith Skaare; sister, Pat (Gary) Hagen of Mesa, AZ, sister Connie (John) Heath of Willmar, MN; sister-in-law, Jean Farnsworth of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Zachary (Bethany) Blotsky of Hatton, ND, Brooke (McHale) Maristuen of Williston, ND, Levi Skaare of Westminster, CO and Mikaela (Jake) Blum of Ault, CO; five great-grandchildren, Turner & Kira Maristuen, Lennon & Beckham Blotsky and Truitt Blum; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend and our angel, Connie Egge.

Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; parents, Palmer & Magnild Skaare; mother-in-law, Gena Hagen; several sisters and brothers-in-law, two nieces and a nephew.
