Collette Diane (Freed) Bailey
August 19, 1963 - November 15, 2024

Residence: Williston, North Dakota

Collette D. (Freed) Bailey, 61, of Williston, ND passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at her residence in Williston, ND.

Collette Diane Bailey (Freed) was born in Watford City, ND, on August 19th, 1963, to Richard and Irene Freed. She was the oldest of 6 siblings, Richard (Scott), Alan, Stacey, Aaron, and Corey, spending most of her childhood in the Watford/Williston area.

Around the 7th grade, the family moved to Casper Wyoming, where she would meet Robert Bailey, marry and have 2 children of their own, Natashia and Nicholas. Natashia brought 2 grandchildren into Collettes life, who quickly became her favorite people.

After leaving Williston, Collette planted herself in Star Valley, Wyoming, where she would stay and raise her children until they flew the nest.

During her stay in the Valley, she would go on to enjoy the outdoors like her family always had, be it hunting, fishing, or just floating the river with a cold beer in her hand.

She mostly worked retail with an occasional stint as a bartender and would make lifetime friends, be it from work or at her favorite local watering hole. She would carry a love for these friends her entire life.

Once grandchildren entered her story, they quickly became her love, laughter, and life. Teslynn and Tatum would be her joy and very much be her miniatures.

Collette was a tiny woman with a larger than life personality. Any room she was in, all you had to do was listen, and you would know she was there, mandating smiles with her boisterous laughter, which continued until her passing.

Collette is preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Richard; her brother, Scott; and her sister, Stacey.

Collette is survived by her siblings, Alan, Aaron and Corey; her daughter, Natashia; and her children, Teslynn and Tatum, as well as her son Nicholas.

Natasha and Nick, I am so sorry to hear about your mom! Colette has the most contagious laugh I have ever heard, it was the best, we always knew when Colette was at the store or downtown, her laugh carried for blocks, it was the best. I am soooo glad I stopped and seen you all and your mom after grandma Irene funeral, got that big and last hug from her! I loved her dearly. Gosh there are stories and stories with Collette, Richey, Irene, even Scott. At least they are together now forever and I bet they are all having a cold one talking about the past! How proud they were of all of you, Natasha and Nick be proud! Natasha you have 2 beautiful young women that are looking at you and you are doing it right, your girls are going places, look at you, you should be so proud of you! Your mom sure was. Nick, your mom bragged you up all the time she was also so very proud of you. You got out of here and doing things you love, music. You are a great singer! Keep that going. I am here for both of you if you need anything. love you both take care of each other.

My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to "swallow up death forever." He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)
