Delores Joanne Briggs, 83, of McIntosh, MN (formerly of Powers Lake, ND), peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Fair Meadows Nursing Home in Fertile, MN.
Delores was born June 11, 1941, in Powers Lake, ND to parents Nels and Mary (Van Berkom) Andersen. She grew up in the Powers Lake area and graduated from Powers Lake High School in 1959. She was an only child.
Delores married James J. Warmsbecker on July 22, 1961. They raised 8 children between living in North Dakota and Minnesota. She lived in Thief River Falls, Crookston and settled in McIntosh, MN in 1982. Delores divorced James and later married Kenny Briggs. She parted ways with Kenny and later reunited with James until his passing in 2005.
Delores was a wonderful mother raising 8 children. Delores was heavily active in her community in Thief River Falls with 4-H, Catholic Church, children’s sports and home making, very active in the Catholic Diocese, an active National Catholic Society of Foresters where she was the recording secretary of St Ann Court 855 in Thief River Falls. The family photo was published on cover of National Catholic Forester in March 1979. Delores also worked at the hospital in Crookston, later she worked at the Mac Manor and Flapjack Restaurant in McIntosh. She attended college for 2 years at the University of Crookston to be a dietician. Delores’ passion was her family and the arts. She loved drawing, cooking, baking and anything crafts. Her love for animals, particularly her cats and rescuing them was a labor of love. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind human being.
She is survived by her sons, Adam (Elena) Ashburn, VA, Michael Fosston, MN, Tony (Jennifer) Byron, MN and Paul (Renna) Fertile, MN; daughters, Debbie (Jeryl) Mahnomen, Jennifer (Jim) Leesburg, VA and Melissa Clearwater, FL; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mathew (oldest child); her father and mother, Nels and Mary Andersen.
