Vera Lorraine Martin passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born in Prosser, Washington, on December 18, 1946.
In 1963, Vera, her mother and younger brothers began going to the Grand View SDA church, where she met her future husband Daniel Martin, and became a member of the church.
They married in 1965 and spent two years in Texas while her husband Dan was in the Army. Upon her husband’s discharge, they moved to College Place, Washington and Vera began her career in bookkeeping and secretarial work.
A passionate health educator, Vera was an avid lecturer/demonstrator, gardener and helped all who sought her guidance with information to improve their health. As well as being a dedicated wife and mother, she was also a beautiful friend. She served faithfully as a dea-coness and Sabbath school teacher in most of the churches she attended. Her unwavering faith in Jesus sustained her throughout most of her life, even as her health and mobility de-clined.
Vera is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dan of Sidney Montana; her beloved children, Greg of Wayland, Michigan and Sycilia of Boulder, Montana; and her three cherished grandchildren Robin, Lily, and Johnathan. She is also survived by her brother Earl Hansen of Sierra Madre, California; her nephew Jared Hansen of Washington; and her niece Christine of Washington.
